Pollack isn't being brought in to compete for a starting job. He's a poor man's Mike McGlynn, a possible backup at several positions. I doubt he makes the team unless someone else gets hurt.

Who does he beat out? The team will carry 9 O-linemen with 8 active on gamedays. The starters at the moment look like Whitworth-Wharton-Cook-Zeitler-Smith (or replacement). The backups would be Collins, Boling, Robinson, and Roland. Pollack isn't really a tackle so Collins and Roland only have to worry about the draft. Boling and Robinson are young and cheap and probably still have upside. Pollack doesn't. He's old and cheap but not very good.

Not saying this will happen, but i would not be shocked if Wharton is cut in TC. Coming off a major injury, old, hasn't played at all for Cincy...

Just saying, there are always some surprise camp cuts. He's at the top of my radar for that honor.

And i know the coaching staff likes Roland for some reason, but i could see him being cut. Not for the sake of Pollack, because of what you pointed out. But he could go.

Wharton is the guy I'm thinking whose going to be competing for a spot with Pollack. Both are actually coming off injury (although Wharton's more severe). Wharton carries a higher cap number though (assuming) so he could be the odd man out...

I'm not really worried about the positions he can play more so than being healthy and ready to go. That's what makes me think he could be a cut.

I was browsing, and saw Smith and signing. Got really excited for a second, then back to reality. Stupid Andre. Confused

He's an upgrade from Richard Quinn. That's about it. Doubt it prevents us from using a pick on a TE if they like someone.

Smith is a good third tight end. I doubt we take a TE in this draft at all unless it is a clear case of BPA.

Harrison talks not going well he wants 6 mil at that price I'd rather have Dansby. Truth is I'd rather have Dansby all along!
