The more I look into it the biggest holes I see on this team are RE, SILB, and CB2. Here's my pick first round that no one talks about.
CB Xavier Rhodes
IMO he fits exactly what we need in a CB. He's bigger and has alot of experience in press-man situations. I would rather have him than any other CB in this draft.
Who are your guys surprise/sleeper picks in the 1st? _________________

I guess Geno Smith would be my surprise pick, and Luke Joeckel is who I think we will pick.
Slowly getting onto the Ziggy Ansah bandwagon though. _________________

Geno and Ziggy would probably be surprises, but they're also my favorites. _________________

I could get down with either of them. Both are definitely in my top 5 _________________

Pretty sure I just read that Dorsey said we have it narrowed down to about 6-8 guys? Anyone have an idea who those guys are?

IMO, That's probably a pretty realistic list. _________________

I'd almost guarantee Chance is in that list somewhere. Probably as the 8th guy. _________________

I would definitely be surprised by Rhodes, but would love it. He's one of my favs, and don't know why he's not talked about more as a top 10 guy. _________________

Definitely a lot to like about him. Probably the best man corner in this draft. Seems lost in zone too often, but he has the foot speed and burst to make up for it. I could get behind that picl at #1. I'd still prefer Geno or Ziggy, but Rhodes or Milliner would make sense, since it's currently our biggest need. _________________

| Xavier is one of my favorite players and back before combine I had said he was my favorite cb and he still is. But milliner has emerged as the consensus #1 cb among the "experts" so I would definitely be surprised but would love to have him in kc!! |

I have been a big fan of Rhodes for awhile and honestly I don't understand why Milliner has pretty much been viewed as the #1 consensus player at the position. Rhodes has the size, speed, and athleticism you look for in a top-tier cornerback prospect plus he is one of the better press man prospects.
Ry,
Just curious, are you still as high on Dion Jordan as you were or have you cooled on him a bit? I know you are high on Ansah - do you still really like Jordan? Honestly, if we are backed into a corner I am not completely opposed to us selecting Ansah - as long as Sutton is smart enough to gameplan for Ansah to maximize his impact and minimize his weaknesses right now being exposed. I still would prefer Lotulelei (if he checks out medically) but from a strictly defensive standpoint, I wouldn't mind Ansah with the caveat of smart gameplanning above. _________________

I'll be honest, NONE of these guys would 'surprise me'. So..going with a SURPRISE Pick...
Cordarrelle Patterson/Tennesee - #2 WR (or Keenan Allen)
Edit: FYI, if they drafted either of those WR's #1 overall, I'd probably choke to death on my beer..I wouldn't be surprised, I'd be friggin' stunned! |

I still think Geno could be it. Alex smith for the now and Geno for the future we got to do something about it. _________________
