Justin Durant intrigues me. Anyone know much about him?
he is a 6 year veteran who had a break out year last season with 103 tackles at OLB for Detroit in their 4-3 defense. Prior to that, his best season was in Jacksonville when he had 81 tackles with 1 sack, 1 fumble and a pick.

I think we ought to look at a guy like Daryl Smith from Jacksonville. He is 31 and didn't play basically all year last year, but has been a very good OLB for them for a while and could be a strong veteran addition to our LB unit. He should come cheap as well.

That's too bad. Though he's older, still a good player and imo, quite a bit better than any of the OGs on the roster now.

On Will Allen. He had been in the league since 2004 with the Bucs. So he is very familiar with Kiffens defense as he was in it till 09. From 10-12 he has been with the Steelers.

@BloggingTheBoys: S Will Allen has spent time at both S spots, but large majority as FS. Started 7 gms for Polamalu in PIT last season

@BloggingTheBoys: LB Durant is a Sam LB, started all but 1 gm for DET in '12. A lot better run defender than pass. '07 2nd rounder. #TheRealHU

@BloggingTheBoys: Durant +6.1 run -4.6 coverage, Allen +0.3 run -0.5 coverage RT @astrosjordan: @me How do they look in PFF?

@fishsports: I believe DB WAllen base last yr = $1.28M, and LB JDurant = $1.75M. These could be affordable 'gets' for #Cowboys

I wouldn't be against bringing in Durant. Would be a solid veteran starter.

I would be pro Durant, neutral on Allen. He wasnt glaringly bad with Pitt, but doesnt fix anything, just depth.

J.Durant would not be a bad sign if cheap. I still want B.Moore or Slausen though

Both will leave without contracts. Unless we reach an extension with Romo or Spencer. That or we cut someone like doug free, but i want to see him as a june 1st cut. In that case he wont free up any space until that time.

Aside from price, I don't see Durant as an improvement over Connor.

Great idea if he is healthy.

Seeing as they play different positions, I don't think it's fair to compare them. Would Durant be better than Albright/Wilber is the better question.

He's played OLB before. So it's not unfair.
