I think the whole approach has something to do with "changing the regime/culture". Creating a "WE" feeling. If it works - money well spent. If not they dug themselves a big hole. However; they can't stick with that approach for long or the cap will bite them.
BTW: The Chiefs have now locked up 6 M$ annually on their kickers ... |
Franchising Colquitt would have meant losing Albert, though.

Oh, no doubt. Just seems odd that our punter is making about the same amount of money as Jamaal Charles, lol. |
Yeah, not to mention Colquitt won't be near as valuable now that we'll have a competent offense.

Hopefully you're right. I'm sure Toub had a part in us pushing so hard for Colquitt.
