Stan Bowman name-dropped Jimmy Hayes, Brandon Pirri, Ben Smith, and Jeremy Morin all as potential guys to move up from Rockford this fall.

Ray Emery is working to re-sign. Pretty surprising; I thought he'd be looking for a starting job elsewhere.

Wow. If they could keep him around to backup Craw at a reasonable price that would be phenomenal. I'm really loving this offseason thus far.

Marcus Kruger received a qualifying RFA offer today. Leddy shouldn't be far behind.

Stan also talked with Stalberg. But he has his sights set on hitting the market.

It was pretty evident throughout the playoffs that he was unhappy with his situation. Looks like the Hawks will have to add two right wingers to the roster this fall.

So far I agree with all of the moves.

Bolland is always hurt and was replaced by Shaw.
Frolik is a nice player but makes too much.

Bickell looks great with Toews and Kane so why break that up.

Leddy may struggle on defense but you guys who skate like that are worth keeping.

Kruger, losing both him and Frolik would be tough.

Ray Emery very likely moving on from Chicago, looking for bigger role, chance at 1 or 1a spot. I'd put Philly as front-runner.

Aww...good for him though, he earned it this year.

Joel Quenneville - C - Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks might stay relatively quiet in day one of the unrestricted free agent market.
"We’ll look at that, but we have guys who are knocking on the door to get into the NHL; guys who have been in our system for two years and they’d probably be playing on many other teams already. That’s good for us," Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said. In other words, Bowman would like to give some of his younger players a chance to prove themselves. Chicago's close to the cap ceiling anyways, so they don't have a lot of flexibility in the matter.

That would honestly be ideal, homegrown guys at a cheap salary. I remember hearing a lot about Teravainan (2012 1st round pick) was destroying the competition in Russia or wherever he played this past year, I'd love to see him up here this year at some point. There's also guys like Morin, Hayes, Smith, Beach, etc. who can contribute up here.

EDIT: I still expect them to sign someone, preferably a 2c.

I would have loved to have him back to backup Craw, but he really earned himself a starting job this year.
