We usually have one of these threads every year, but interest has dropped each year since only like 2 or 3 of us were posting in it. Thought I'd try this again since we have a lot of new posters and the Hawks are making history. That said....
Holy hawkey, Batman! This streak has been unbelievable, 22 games now with a point (28 if you go back to the regular season of last year), this team has just been magical.
I'm currently watching the Hawks/Wings game and I feel out of breath, this has been so intense. To a shootout we go...

holy balls this season is exciting. i managed to get home with about 8 minutes left in the game and i had only hoped that of all teams that could possibly end our streak i hoped it wasnt detroit

We started off so hot in the first period. Surprised we never scored during the 1st. Quick stat- Red Wings 2-2 in shootouts and the Blackhawks are 2-5.

With the way both goaltenders have played, it's fitting this game goes to a shootout.

Also it's kind of disappointing that it took a lockout and then a big winning streak to peak the city's interest in hockey again. There was a lot of pessimism over the team last year and even the year before.

Really? I hadn't sensed that pessimism at all. It sucked being knocked out in the first round two years following the championship, but I don't really remember anyone losing hope in the team.

Yeah I'm resigned to the fact that the streak is gong to end eventually, but I'll be damned if it's Detroit or Vancouver who end it. Anyone else I won't care, but I hate those teams.

This game reminded me a lot of the Sunday morning NBC game at Detroit during the 2009-2010 season. Playoff-caliber play with both Niemi and Howard having monster games, Hawks almost won in with Sharp/Hossa on a 2-on-1 rush at the OT buzzer, and both goaltenders lit it up again in the shootout.

Gotta give props to Jimmy Howard today, he was fantastic. Any other goalie in there and the game would have been 5-1. Same could be said for Crawford.

Lol some people in the NHL thread in "Other Sports" forum are starting to get annoyed with the Hawks' streak. Haters gonna hate, I guess.

Yeah but that'll happen whenever a team is doing real well, and vice versa for when they start doing poorly. Overall I'd say that the city has still been behind the Hawks the last two years.
