Resign:
Dwayne Bowe – Long term
TJax – restructure- Long term
Dustin Colquitt
Thomas Gafford
Leon Williams
Shaun Smith
Edgar Jones
Ben Siler
Free Agent Signings:
Will Svitek
Sean Smith
Charles Woodson
Cut:
Matt Cassel
Franchise: Brandon Albert
Draft Day:
Trade #1 to Buffalo for #8 & 41 and 2014 2nd
Trade Brandon Albert to Chicago for #50 and 2014 2nd
#1: Buffalo: Geno Smith, QB, WVU
#2: Jacksonville: Bjoern Warner, DE, FSU
#3: Oakland: Shariff Floyd DT Florida
#4: Philadelphia: Eric Fisher OT Central Michigan
#5: Detroit: Ziggy Ansah, DE, BYU
#6: Cleveland: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
#7: Arizona: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Kansas City Draft:
#8: Star Lotulelei, DE, Utah: His heart condition has nothing to do with him falling to 8. Floyd and Ansah flying up the boards while Star is sidelined gets us our man.
#41: Alec Ogletree, ILB, UGA: The rise of Brown and Minter plus the offseason DUI, we get our next Justin Houston.
#50: Tyler Bray, QB, Tennessee- Impressed with the bulk he’s already put on. He’s not a day one starter, but if anybody could get his head and eyes where they need to be, it’s Andy Reid. I love the comparison to Jay Cutler
#63: Kyle Long, OG, Oregon: Raw talent and athleticism will fit in perfectly to our scheme.
Comp: Jonathan Franklin, RB, UCLA: Complete back and is NFL ready.
5th: Conner Vernon, WR, Duke: Reminds me of Eric Decker.
6th: Braden Hansen, OG, BYU- Reid goes back to his roots to find a sleeper who may not fall to this point.
7th: Bradley McDougald, DB, Kansas- I’m a homer…
WR: Bowe, Vernon, Newsome
Slot: McCluster
LT: Stephenson, Svitek
LG: Long, Allen, Hansen
C: Hudson, Hansen

LILB: Ogletree, Siler
RILB: Johnson,
ROLB: Hali, Jones
CB: Flowers, Arenas
FS: Berry, McDougald

Even without keeping Albert I don't think we have the money for Sean Smith and Woodson.
Don't know how long Smith will last with Stephenson and Svitek protecting the blind side...hope Bray matures fast. _________________

Sean Smith is going to be a high priced FA cornerback and I don't see the cost vs. impact value being there - he is too inconsistent.
Also, I don't see Chicago trading two second round picks for Branden Albert. MAYBE we franchise him and if they can work out a long term deal they trade a 2013 second round pick - MAYBE. _________________

Bray scares me. I think he's Rex Grossman 2.0 I don't like his decision making at all. _________________

Well...the compensation from Buff and Chi are unrealistic IMO.
We don't have enough to sign Smith and Woodson in FA
If Tyler Bray's upside is Cutler, which is far from a sure thing, that's not exactly much better than Alex Smith.
But to answer your question, that'd be a great defense. _________________

My thoughts almost exactly. Why would we even want Woodson, unless you believe we are instantly a SB contender? I don't. I bet Woodson doesn't either.
I wouldn't mind taking a shot on Bray, however. There's major upside there if he matures. _________________ IMO - In My Opinion
