Draft:
There are two draft day trades for us in this mock. I will present both trades first then the draft after. Also I asked earlier about our comp picks and inserted them into the mock as well. Most thought a 4th and 7th (Wright and Stanton). One said maybe a 5th and not a 4th and another person said a possible second 7th as well. I went with the 4th and one 7th.
Buffalo trades 1.8 and 2.10 for Detroit 1.5, Buddy Nix needs to do something in a hurry to retain his job. He moves up to grab G.Smith ahead of Arizona and and maybe even Cleveland if the new regime doesn't want to move on with Brandon Weeden.
Dallas trades 2.17, 4.17 and 3rd rd 2014 for Detroit 2.4, Jerry Jones never one afraid of moving around on draft day decides to come up and draft M.Glennon. This reinforces the hot seat that is going on in Dallas. Glennon can sit behind Romo this year, and can either replace Romo, or give Dallas some slight leverage when they do resign Romo. Either way Glennon is able step in as starter after Romo is gone, but not rushed in this season.
1.8 Dee Milliner,cb Alabama
(A top prospect that fills a need. Well coached in college, big physical corner)
2.10 Robert Woods,wr USC
(Great value here, will be great across from Calvin eventually and Broyles in
the slot)
2.17 Margus Hunt,de Southern Missouri
(Very big measurable's, has upside and may be worth the risk here in the 2nd)
3.3 Bacarri Rambo,ss Georgia
(A great talent that will bolster our back end. Has had some off field issues)
4.17 Jamie Collins,olb Southern Mississippi
(More depth at linebacker, giving us a chance for a bright future at the
position moving forward)
4.c Terry Hawthorne,cb Illinois
(Good size, and adds more depth and competition at an area of need)
5.4 Vance McDonald,te Rice
(A lot better receiver than blocker)
6.3 Denard Robinson,wr/rb/cb/ret Michigan
(No true position, but great playmaker with the ball in his hand)
7.5 Chris Jones,dt Bowling Green
(Provides a middle pass rush, should make the practice squad)
7.c Jeff Locke,p UCLA
(Can flip the field something that might just help to win a game or two)

Draft doesn't look too bad.
What's the point of bringing back Cherilus though? Reiff is more than ready to step in and start. _________________

I'll start off by saying that if we are to trade back, that is the type of scenario I think would have to happen.
I like this draft, but there seems to be too many players falling.
Woods and Hunt may go in the 1st. I especially dont see Hunt making it there.
Rambos knack for big plays is intriguing, but im not sure about spending a 3rd on a guy who might be a problem.
Hawthorne I like alot, but he and Collins are projected to go higher as well at this point. _________________

The reason I brought Gosder back was with the idea of health and having Reiff eventually succeed into the line up not just have it given to him. Then next year when Backus would presumably be gone, we wouldn't have another immediate need. I don't think Gosder is going to break the bank any where.
And as far as people sliding, it happens year in and year out. I don't feel I put anyone out to far from where they could be from what I have seen and read. But we will never know until the last weekend of April. But either way I tried sticking to BPA.
Thanks for the feedback. |

Presumably he projects Reiff to take over at left tackle in 2014 when Backus is gone and plans to keep Cherilus at RT for at least one more year. _________________
