Not that there is any special players, just a secondary fan with a possible different perspective.
Round 1: Geno Smith, QB. I think picking him is a no brainer. I would like to pick up a veteran but none of them have the type of arm needed for the down field passing game.
Round 2: (EDIT - sorry I put wrong name here first.) Larry Warford, OG. Bring some ability to protect the inside pass game and add to the dismal running attack.
Round 3: Tony Jefferson, S. Wilson retiring soon.
Round 4: Nico Johnson, ILB. A thumper type of guy to stop the run.
Round 5: Kenyon Barner, Athlete. Need some sizzle to take some pressure off of Fitz. Could have a lot of fun with this guy. This offense needs to find some sudden TDs. This guy brings 2-4 a year.
Round 6: Kwame Geathers, DT. Backup and a 10-15 snap guy hopefully early and one of the few late round DT prospects that project to a possible starter someday.
Watch a few games a year so most on this board will know more about the positional importance than me. Thought this draft addressed need and got good, realistic value. _________________

That is a solid draft mosteelers.
There is reasonable value and you could argue that all those players will be there at those spots.
I really like Warford in the 2nd, he is type of guard we need. |

The only thing I'd change is to add another interior lineman in the 3rd. Jefferson is good but we'll likely re-sign Rashad Johnson... Jones or Scwenke preferably. Love the rest. _________________

Also, there is a 2nd 6th rounder missing.
lets call it Vince Williams ILB FSU
and we have a good draft. |

good mock, except for Smith. I don't want them taking a QB at #7. I see this as Blaine Gabbert 2.0.
Hopefully the Bills trade up so this is not an option on draft day. _________________ Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

Not that I love Smith, but he is better than Gabbert. I see him more as a Tannahill type of guy who is a little more polished.
Nobody should have picked Gabbert. I think he threw for 17TDs in a pass happy offense. Not that's the be all end all but he was weak sauce.
All reports show he is a hard worker which usually translates to good with talent in the NFL . _________________

Gabbert was all hype, kudos to his agents, they played the game and smashed it out of the park.
Geno would probably sell tickets in JAX however, has to be a chance at #2, be it a small one, that new owner Khan must be keen to get return on his investment. |
