Good move, needed to happen and the thought the Bears would let a 26 year old Pro Bowler leave was always crazy.
Bears have 4.5 million in cap space right now.

A recent rotoworld blurb said that they're at opposite ends of talks, this could take a while just like Forte's did last year.

There were similar reports regarding the Forte deal, but it finally got signed at the last minute. I think they'll end up figuring out a similar deal (probably for a bit more because of the position). |

I see 12 we can clear pretty easily with Tillman and Marshall.
I see 2-3 that can be cleared by extending Tim Jennings.
I see 2 that we can get back from Briggs.
And if we want to get crazy 3 million we can save with Peppers without totally screwing ourselves.

Once the restructures and cuts come on, I bet we have around 20 million after tagging Melton. Plenty of money to sign an upper level Olineman.

Cutting Hester, Davis, Williams, Spaeth, Unga, Pieschel, Brandon saves about $6M, if the Bears did the rumored, but unlikely, cut of Garza, that saves $3M by itself. Expect Peppers and Tillman's combined cap# to go from $24M to $12M.
