There's the money we needed in the draft.

Wow, curious to see the details

This is great news! I simply cannot wait until the draft. I am so excited to see what the Rams do. So much time spent reading what you guys think/want them to do. Now we will actually see it happen. They certainly shocked me quite a bit last year, so we'll have to see what lies ahead.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch believes the Rams are still in play for free agent LB Daryl Smith. Thanks to Chris Long's contract restructure, the Rams finally have a little bit of room under the cap. They could move on Smith or free agent S Quintin Mikell soon after the draft. Neither veteran has attracted any other known interest.

Looks like we'll get one or the other after the draft...

The Mikell stuff literally Zero sense. Unless he takes the absolute Vet minimum, then there was almost no reason in cutting him. He is no better than Stewart at this point, we dont need both of them.

Dont know about that. Mikell was a top 5 SS last season while Stewart couldnt touch the field.

You need to go back and actually watch Mikell, and not look at the awful rankings that people put out.

Mikell was almost as much of a problem that Dahl was for the first 10 games of the season. We then had to completely change our Secondary approach to get anything out of him when they started to just line him up as the 3rd LB, not so much as a SS.

He killed the CBs and exasperated the Dahl problem

At the beginning of the year, they tried putting Mikell at FS and it failed miserably. Yes, I get that. But when Mikell starting playing SS, he excelled greatly. Mikell was pretty much viewed as the 3rd linebacker, I agree. But that is the position Chris Hope and Roman Harper have played for years in this system. It's not something Jeff Fisher was forced to do because of Mikell's lack of covering the open field. The SS in this defense is supposed to be in the box.

Yikes, thats unfortunate he felt/feels that way. One can only hope that he recognizes the confidence the staff has in him by allowing SJAX to walk and just plays ball. We shall see

I remember a few talking heads mentioning Pead's confidence being shot after being made 3rd string following his preseason struggles. I guess there was a bit of truth to that. That confidence returning is key to him living up to his potential as a top 50 pick.

All I can say is boo hoo. Hes honestly being a little girl about this. You had a chance to compete and you didn't seize the opportunity. Millions of people would kill to be in his position and hes complaining.

You are completely missing the point of what Pead even said. And quite honestly being completely insensitive toward a guy who was actually honest for once instead of the same cookie cutter lines we hear every time they are asked a question.

These type of reactions from fans, and the ignorant bashing from idiot talking heads on the radio are the reason players never speak the truth and only regurgitate the same "one game at a time" crap that we are immune to at this point.

Remind me, does the draft actually start at 8:30 EST, or is that the beginning of coverage and picks start closer to 9:00? (And same for Day 2.)

From what little Pead was quoted in that article, it sounded as though he was lonely and uncomfortable in his new surroundings, and then was disappointed by things that happened at work. It also sounds like he is ready to get past it.
