I thought it easier to create a new thread versus digging up the old one.

Today just keeps getting better....

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3237/matt-cassel

On NFL Live, ESPN's Adam Schefter mentioned the Jets, Vikings, and Cardinals as potential suitors for free agent-to-be Matt Cassel.

Schefter seemed to be speculating, but all three clubs are quarterback needy. Cassel will surely be released before March 12, and Schefter believes he'll generate some interest. We'd add New England as a potential destination to be Tom Brady's backup, especially if the Pats put Ryan Mallett on the trade block. Feb 27 - 4:10 PM

The Jets should sign Cassel, keep Sanchez and draft Barkley...

While that would be entertaining, I'd prefer him in our division. Laughing

You forgot the most important implication of this. With 3 QBs on the roster, the Jets would trade Tebow to the Cards.

How about both? Tolzien as a primary back-up and a FA third stringer.

Hard to say because we don't know how good Tolzein is. He looked very good in his few pre season games. He's got as much time with the team as Kap. So we can't say he's too inexperienced. I'm really hopping he's good enough to be our backup, and to step in if needed. If so, I wouldn't spend the money on a FA QB. I'd just take mid to low round flyer on a guy and hope for the best.

I wouldn't mind bringing JJ back. He could work the pistol if Kaep gets hurt.

thats what i like as well. tolzein as the first backup (similar to alex as a qb... smart, more conservative, and traditional knows the offense)
then jj (more a kap qb. this way we have both options.)
then whatever one coaches think is better if kap were to go down

Most talented #NFL roster? I polled 13 different execs and only 2 teams received votes. (SF-11 votes, SEA-2 votes). Dancing

RE: Most talented roster--Several execs that picked SF mentioned SEA as a close 2nd. Had a late vote come in for ATL. Eh?

I would give SEA the slight roster advantage over SF. I think those are the top 2 rosters by a good margin. d'oh!

Draft? What draft? The only draft I know is the beer I'm drinking at 7am. With oldman. On his front porch. On rocking chairs. With him yelling at a kid to get a damn haircut.
