Geno
MJD
CSIII
B14ckmon
Shipley
Lewis
Revamped o-line

Drool Drool Drool

That might be the best offense that a rookie QB has gotten to start his career with since Matt Ryan's 2008 offense.

Don't ruin that beautiful list of players by putting marcedes with them

Even though he's not special (or underused if that's the way some feel) as a pass catcher, he's still elite as a blocker.

I know Caldwell isn't planning on spending big in free agency, but I think we should take a stab at one of the right tackles. Get the two bookends set, nwaneri is solid at guard, the only questions are the future at center and the other guard spot if rackley doesn't step up. With a solid o line and our WRs, we should know pretty quickly if geno/gabbert have what it takes.

I don't disagree with that at all. It would be great to just have a strong offense to put around whoever is QB.

Rackley should be decent at LG, Meester is still solid as a pass blocker, and the question at RT is the biggest hole on that offense (aside from the lack of production at QB, obviously).

MJD isn't going to carry a team to a ton of wins, but he's a fantastic back to be a lean on piece for a young QB.

In that scenerio, the offensive line would be able to give a good amount of time.

B14ckmon showed in the second half of the season that he can be a #1 WR. The same for Cecil's stretch as a starter. Another year with Jerry Sullivan should help those two develop further, as we already saw what one year with him did.

Shipley isn't a great slot receiver by any stretch, but he should be a solid 500 yard type guy.

Lewis is solid safety blanket TE, and excels as a pass catcher.

In that scenerio, it would basically be that anything less than Rookie of the Year would be a failure.

That's better than RGIII's offense, better than Cam Newton's offense, better than Sam Bradford's offense, and really only behing Matt Ryan's offense in terms of the situation a rookie QB was put in. Before that, Ben and I guess Peyton Manning? And Manning's supporting cast early wasn't that good.

I think there's some good talent for a RT in the draft and we should be able to get a starter somewhere rounds 2-4. It would be nice to get ourselves a known stud though. Guess it'll depend on pricing.

What's wrong with Lewis? He's solid TE.

I mean, he spent most of last year babysitting our awful O-Line, and had ZERO chemistry with Gabbert...But he's a very good all-around TE. Great blocker, solid red-zone target and catcher of passes over the middle. Maybe not 'elite', but i'd say top half of the league when he connects with the right QB and system.

stonehands, looks like he's halfassing it most of the time, slow as dirt, played well to get a new contract and stunk it up ever since?

'Halfass Stonehands' didn't finish too shabbily in terms of the yards he racked up by the end of the year though. Not the elite numbers you'd expect with that contract, but like i said, he was saddled with a lot of blocking responsibilities a bunch of other top TEs aren't necessarily asked to deal with so regularly, and he didn't exactly have the benefit of a high octane offense with stellar QB play to bolster his results.

And that's with the abysmal start he had. He has no chemistry with Gabbert for whatever reason. But he put together a decent set of games with Henne tossing the ball, and ended the year 18th in receiving yards among TEs? Not that bad.

Garrard may have got him a contract he didn't fully deserve, but he's still a legitimate weapon and top half/top-16 if not better in the league as an all around TE imo. Just needs to be used properly, and appreciate for what he is...with the understanding he's no Gronk.
