The Chiefs could have Flowers & Revis as their Corners.
(cause I'm certain the Chiefs could have got Revis, for what they gave up for Alex Smith)

That at least....would have been understandable.

crazy...
Jets won't give him up for anything less than at least a 1st.

They have literally 0 reason to. If you don't get the first, you go into the season w/ him, if he isn't back to being the old Revis, you have leverage on the next deal, if he is, then you can trade him for a kings ransom before the deadline. Win/Win.

Exactly. If he's the Revis of old for the first 7 weeks of the season, you trade him at the deadline for whatever his old value was (maybe a 1st, 3rd, and a conditional).

I hope it doesn't happen.

I think the 49ers should try to trade for him, adding him would possibly be the piece that gets them a SB and they now have more ammo to make a trade after getting a high 2nd for Alex Smith.

I hate that the Jets will probably trade him, its like we can never have a star player... sucks being a Jets fan.
Agreed, it does suck. Giving up my season tickets so I don't need to suffer anymore. With that said, I think the Niners 1st and the Chiefs 2nd for Revis is a realistic option for both teams.

Not without him agreeing to a reasonable extension. Since it's unlikely I don't see the fit.

Agree with that, but I would think the guy would want to be on a young, championship calibur team.

Fascinating.

First NFL offseason?

I think we're past the point in medicine where an ACL is a long term problem. Players come back all the time from it, that shouldn't really change anything. All reports have been saying Revis is ahead of schedule and should be ready for camp.

I'm expecting at least a first and third, and then a conditional in 2014. If they insist on trading him, there better be adequate compensation.

Coming back from ACL tear isn't the same as it was. It's not 1990. I have no reason to think he's not going to be the same.

***Update***
Quote:
The 49ers are among a handful of teams that have discussed making a run at Revis this offseason, according to two sources. In fact, the 49ers are poised to make a run at Revis even if it’s just for one season (although that could be problematic from Revis’ standpoint).

Yup, look at Lardarius Webb. He came back from his ACL injury and a year later was better than ever and a top-5 CB in the NFL. Of course now he's injured again and has to do it again lol

For Revis, I would expect the Jets to except nothing less than the 1st and 2nd round pick in this year's draft. If a bidding war ensues the Jets could get 2 1st round picks. If the 49ers could get 2 second round picks for Alex Smith, the Jets should be able to get 4 first round picks for Revis. LOL.

The Jets will most likely get a first for him but I don't see anyway a team is willing to part with a first and a second for a 28-year old DB coming off an ACL tear...

Unless that team now had an extra second round pick after dealing their backup QB, and has a defense that is a lockdown corner away from being horrifyingly scary...

Seriously this makes sense on so many levels.

SF is up against it and Kaep/Crabbs/Iupati/Smith will get phat deals. They should trade up for Vacarro and draft Rhodes (or whichever db's they prefer) with Goldston leaving.

Way too many star DB's in this years draft to give a lot up for Revis.

This CB class isn't that good. It's not terrible, but not as good as last year's class.
