Should we pick him up? Move Jenkins back to CB see if that works, if not let him walk next year as it's his contract year. Let Shon play FS. Now he can knock the OTHER team out and not PT.

Unfortunately we're lacking cap space to make a big signing. Especially if we're trying to restructure Will Smith and Vilma instead of releasing them.
I don't think we can afford him.

Apparently he's looking for 7-8.5 mil per. Not THAT bad. Damn SP and his loyalty.

Actually I see the Saints suprising people and signing at least one major defensive free agent this offseason to go along with a couple role players. I doubt that player will be Goldson though... Malcolm Jenkins and the rest of this secondary all seem to be getting a pass from the coaching staff for their horrid 2012 performance with Steve Spagnuolo and his zone concepts getting mOst of the blame.
Time will tell if that is true or not but that's what it seems this staff has convinced themselves off.

If we restructure Smith and Vilma, we'd likely save money as their wouldn't be any dead money.
