*****SALARY CAP FAQ*****
Q.) What is the Rule of 51?
A. During the offseason, only the 51 most expensive players in terms of cap hit count against the cap. During the season, every player counts against the cap. _________________

AJ Hawk- 7.050 Million.
If we get each year ahead mapped out it becomes quite easy to keep updated and it helps calculate the future roster moves.
Fantastic resource for those who are new:

Shields is a RFA, not a UFA. 2010, 2011, and 2012 were his only seasons with us. He signed as an UDFA. _________________

I'm tracking the cap via a slightly different format (sorted by cap hit).
I've made the assumption of a second round tender (and bonus) for Shields, a third for Dietrich-Smith and minimum offers for Benson, Jones and Crabtree.
I've got Saturday at $825,000 of dead money because that was reported on packers.com. None of the cap tracking sites have that number, it could easily be wrong.
I don't have Jolly on the list.
The total doesn't include the 7M the Packers are carrying over from 2012.
The little numbers at the end of the list are a bunch of miscellaneous dead money.
A new, but useful resource for cap information:

If possible, it would be nice to have the cost of tendering the RFA at each level. I don't know if it depends on where they were drafted, but any info about that would be good to add. _________________ Adopt-a-Packer Frank Zombo

After A-Rod, the next 4 names on that list ALL need to restructure simply because they haven't lived up to their cap number. In all honesty, I don't think it would be much of a surprised to see all four of those players either cut or traded within the next 6-8 months; especially the first two after Rodgers.
That said. We need to be focused on extending Rodgers, Matthews, and Raji at this point. After we do this, we can then focus on other needs, IMHO. Also, the sooner the Rodgers deal gets done, the cheaper it gets. |

Right of First Refusal - Salary of at least $1,200,000
ROFR & Original Draft Tender - 110% previous year's salary OR $1,200,000 (whichever is greater)
2nd Round Tender - 110% of previous salary OR $1,835,000 (whichever is greater)
1st Round Tender - 110% of previous salary OR $2,611,000 (whichever is greater) _________________

| So how does that seven mil work into carrying over into this year shouldn't we have 130 mil for our cap or no? |

Essentially yes, we would have the ability to have contracts on the books that add up to $130 million. |

| Quote: | Albert Breer of the NFL Network tweeted out the 2013 restricted tender amounts for the upcoming offseason as we move towards the start of free agency. The numbers, as expected, only increased by the minimum 5%, as per the CBA, which shows that the 2013 salary cap won't rise much in 2013. 2013 Restricted Free Agent Tender Amounts
First-round tender $2.879 million
Second-round tender $2.023 million
Original round tender $1.323 million
Right of first refusal tender $1.323 million |
I believe that 110% aspect still remains in place, but the amounts did go up slightly. It is not drastic, but could make the difference in offering a guy like Francois (if the Packers want to keep him) or even Crabtree a ROFR or a longer contract closer to veteran minimum and incentives. |

| Seeing Mason Crosby eating up $3 million of cap space actually makes me angry...shouldn't that count as dead space? lol |
