Free Agency-
Sebastian Vollmer OT
Keenan Lewis CB
Dannell Ellerbe MLB
Kenny Phillips S
Casey Hampton NT
I think all of them would be impact players who shouldn't be overly expensive. They desperately need a right tackle, Ellerbe can help with the transition to a 3-4, Lewis can replace Rodgers-Cromartie since he also has had 3-4 experience, and Phillips can be good if he can stay healthy, so I'd try to sign him to a deal with an out in it. Casey Hampton could also help the transition to a 3-4 for maybe one or two seasons. The order I have them listed is how I'd prioritize, because chances are they won't get all, or even half of them.
Draft:
1st round-Trade down to Buffalo. They want to ensure they get their quarterback before Arizona or Cleveland. But the demand isn't high, and the Eagles probably don't have anyone they're particularly stuck on at number four, so even a fourth round pick or so should suffice. I would then take Chance Warmack at number 8. I know...guard in the top 10? But he's played for their new o-line coach, and he looks like the Andrew Luck of guard prospects.
2. Barrett Jones OL. Also played for the same o-line coach. His best asset is versatility, which would be plenty useful seeing as how the whole o-line has been in a state of flux for a couple seasons now. He could tie up any loose end. And if he doesn't start anywhere this season, he could pop in anywhere at the first injury.
3. Jordan Poyer CB. Put up good numbers last year, held his own at the Senior Bowl, and I'm sure Chip Kelly is plenty familiar with him.
After that I'd target a safety, quarterback, backup running back, another tight end, and some depth at defensive tackle. But OL and CB would be top priority in the draft |
