Taking a look at our team, we need to fill some holes on the offensive line and our defense is getting up in age. I believe Urlacher we resign for a 1 year deal to retire as a bear after this coming up year. When free agency starts, we need a OT, TE and I believe a LB.
we sign
- Sebastian Vollmer (RT) -(5 year $29million deal)
- Michael Boley (LB)- (2 years $6 million)
- Dustin Keller (TE)- (4 years- $16 million)
Now the NFL Draft
1st round- Johnathan Cooper (OG) NC
- this guy would come in a start day 1 for us on the right side. Lets get ur running game going for Forte and protection for Cutler
2nd round- Robert Woods (WR) USC
- He would be our slot WR and he has been real impressive at the combine. He is a playmaker and reminds me alot of USC steve smith. Good route running and hands.
4th round- Tyronne Mathieu (CB) LSU
- Charles Tillman is up in age and Mel Tucker runs a aggressive attacking defense and Im willing to take a gamble on this guy and believe he would fit perfect in his scheme.

I would love to add Vollmer to this team, but again like Albert it is a cost issue.
If we franchise Melton I see it being very hard to also find 8-9 million for an OT. _________________

I can't see us drafting Tyrann in te 4th. We don't usually bring guys in that are gonna cause us problems.
I could honestly see him going undrafted. |

I agree with that. He had a whole offseason away from football and still screwed up. I can't see us taking a chance on a kid who has a history of problems and getting in trouble. He's a bit overrated IMO. _________________

I think there is a very good chance he goes undrafted. _________________

I don't know anymore... He had a very solid combine and I now think he has a decent shot at getting drafted in one of the later rounds.
It's good to see he stayed in shape. |

He was fast but 4 bench reps is pathetic. That might qualify him to be a returner I guess... _________________

Didn't we draft Josh Moore in the 4th and he only had 1 rep? The bench press is only the bench press; it's not like he's going to be pushing DLmen back. If he can do a combination of run, cover, jump, deflect passes, catch, and tackle that's all he'll need to do.
I'm certain he'll get drafted, late, but drafted nonetheless.
EDIT: Correction - Moore was drafted in the 5th round, not 4th. _________________ Martellus Bennet highlight video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lP8fHN53t0

To go with my last post, this just popped up on Rotoworld:
| Quote: | Tyrann Mathieu - DB - Player
Eight-year NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah "can't recall a single time" that team he worked for downgraded a cornerback on its draft board due to bench-press reps at the Scouting Combine.
Media observers found it interesting -- to put it kindly -- that LSU CB Tyrann Mathieu only benched 225 pounds four times, but NFL teams care much less about Mathieu's weight-room strength. Overall, his Combine workout was roughly above average. Mathieu officially ran 4.50 in the forty with a 34-inch vertical and 9-foot-9 broad jump. NFL Network's Deion Sanders is convinced Mathieu will be "a baller" and "immediate starter" in the pros. |

Deion Sanders has alot of pull in the NFL and his words speak volumes...Tyrone Mathieu had a good combine, besides his bench press. He has smooth hips, good speeed, and a good burst...He the guy is Safety in a Corners body.....He will be drafted and I would love for the Bears to draft him....
Release Devin Hester and give Mathieu #23..... |
