No way will I ever get on board with drafting a CB in the 1st till were legit Playoff contenders. (quality pass rush trumps mediocre CBs)
To many talented Pass Rushers & Olinemen will be available.
I like that you drafted a OT & I'm OK with letting Long, Smith & Bush walk as long as were acquiring the necesary Off talent.
We should be embracing a franchise phylosophy of scoring 28 - 38 pts so draft a quality TE no later than the 2nd FOR THE LOVE OF JOBE !
But I don't like the idea of letting Fasano walk just yet.
Especially with question marks across the Oline, dude is a great blocker!
To me Charels Clay is way more valuable as the Utility Player especially later in the season when injuries stack up.
Why not target an elite TE, why just settle for hand me downs & 4 th rndrs ???
my 2 cents

ya but Rhodes isnt a mediocre CB, hes a beast.. and we already have one of the best d-lines in the NFL.. no need to draft a pass rusher in the first 2 rounds

there arent that many elite TE's available, the best ones in FA are Bennett, Cook and Myers.. that would be cool if we drafted vance mcdonald aka young shockey in the 2nd/3rd round |

All due respect, he may very well be a great CB.
But dissecting a problem at the root is still the best remedy to any problem.
Great pass rush can help generate turnovers & loss of down much more effectively than the uncertainty of whether the CB made the right read, was in position or even made the INT.
Besides Mia only has 1 elite Pass Rusher whom has already been out of college for 7 - 8 yrs.
If Cam Wake goes down we don't have another elite pass rusher.
Mia needs & has needed 2 more Cam Wakes for a while now.
We thought Misi was the answer when he's really quite avg & will soon be overpaid.
I'd rather bring in a FA CB that has already cut his teeth.

One thing I am liking a lot about Philbin vs. the last regime is that he is not ready to sign every player that exits Green Bay.He passed on Flynn and reports are that he does not think Jennings is or is worth a # 1 reciever contract. I agree by the way.
Seems like Sparano and Co. wanted to sign ever ex Cowboy that ever played in Dallas.
I do not know how much input Philbin has on players but he seems to want gonna be players instead of has been players |
