By looking at these stats, Green is not an upgrade. Green was basically the entire offense last year and he barely broke a 1,000 yard season. He had a below average Oline, but the Falcons don't have the best running Oline either. Green isn't the best catching RB either. He doesnt have breakaway speed and isn't that great at pass protection. I just don't see how he is an upgrade over Turner. I hope the Broncos take him because he wouldnt help us much. |
How was he "the whole offense" when he started like half the games, if that?
It's an upgrade, but not a huge one. I wouldn't want him starting... |
Did you watch the Jets passing game last year??? He def was their main offensive weapon regardless of how many games he played.
If he cant start then why would you want him??? We already have RB's that have back up roles. We need a starter. And with the screen game we have adopted, we need a RB that can catch the ball in space and run upfield. Green doesn't have that kind of talent. He is a one trick pony and that trick is average. _________________

He's decent. We keep 4 RBs on roster, so you're saying you'd rather have someone like Antone Smith who never got more than a few carries in a game, or a guy like Green who has had 200 yard games and many if touchdowns and is still somewhat young?
I'm not saying get him and bench him, but I don't want to get him and give him 30 carries a game. _________________

I don't know where you are getting the notion that I want Antone Smith starting or that starting Smith would be an option. The draft should be the only option for a RB this offseason IMO. Gillislee, S. Taylor, J.Cooper, L Bell are all RB's who can be taken in rounds 3-5 or even later. I have faith that any one of those backs can contribute better than Green can for our team. Barring injury, each of those backs have their own dynamic talents and they all can catch the football and either make people miss or run through defenders. That is something Green or "Smith" can't do. _________________

You might not have read my posts. I said I personally want a 3-4 back rotation as I don't see us getting a "main" back this offseason. That being said I don't want Snith being our 3rd or 4th guy. Even if we get Shonn, I want a 4th RB. I say whoever is playing well, play them. Don't have a "starter" that you have to rush 25 times.
JMO, though. I honestly don't care whether we get/don't get him. _________________

I read you earlier posts. I'm for a 3 RB rotation but why not supplement that rotation with a guy who is younger and has more upside than Greene? _________________

| Never said that I personally want him on the Falcons but it is possible, I'd much rather take a chance on Knile Davis |

That Jets offense was awful.
Greene isn't bad. He wasn't AP to the team but he has a motor that won't stop.
He hits the hole alot faster than Turner.
Get him in here.
We're a running game away from pure domination on offense.
Grab a rookie RB as well. Maybe a 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounder. |

No thanks. We have Quizz and Snelling. Bring in a young guy from the draft to be our third back. _________________

We have kept 4 RBs since the Smith staff has came in. Move Snelling/Green to a "big back" role and Snelling is a backup FB too, draft a guy and have him split time with whoever the "hot back" at the time is.
Idk its just a thought. Like I said I really dgaf if we sign him or not.. _________________

Apparently there is news that have the Falcons and Steven Jackson talking as well. Who knows what we are going to do. I would rather have Jackson over Green tho. _________________
