Can I get the cap implications for cutting these guys? |
Only a few of those guys right now count against the cap. So it would save under a Million? _________________

I'm pretty sure Ace is embarrassed by the lack of evil emanating from the Cowboys war room. I know I am. |

Nice job on this. Sidbury is a pretty decent backup. _________________

scar seems to think he can be a 10-sack guy in this scheme...might just be a starter for us _________________

Bold is how much we gain in cap space by cutting them.
Keep in mind that there is no roster space limiting us and that only a few are actually taking up space. We also have over $6m in cap space still to play with and have a full restructure to gain another $3-4m and we have already let most of the better talent go past us. _________________

I am slightly surprised we sat so idle during Free Agency, but nothing detrimental occurred. _________________

I think there's no reason to really make any cuts or more restructures, I would be more then surprised if we were able to spend 6 million on what is left in FA. And it seems like we are not looking for any trades that would take some space, since no one else seems to be interested in the Mincey trade and there really haven't been any other trade talks. |

I'm also surprised that we didn't go harder for a starting DE or a HB. |

It's unfortunate but it seems like not everyone was aware of really how much cap space we have and how it really works. _________________

Price tag? |
$715,000 |
Please tell me he is a SS for us.. |
I think he's a better FS then Sensabaugh (not that it says much) therefor I think that we should cut Sensabaugh and save 1.500.000 of his total 3,7 million cap number.
We would go into the draft with him as the starting FS and Church the starting SS, but not doubt that we will look for a new starting FS in the draft which probably would make Dahl who is still fairly young at 27 the backup SS and Matt Johnson the backup FS which looks like pretty good depth. Dahl is not a bad backup to have at all and especially not at that price, he has a good amount of starting experience while still being young and it would allow us to cut an overpaid player who also is older. Craig Dahl would be an insurence policy to if we can't find a safety in the draft (which I doubt we can't).
- On a more serious note, he has viking blood in his veins. He will be dominating! 2014 all pro. |
If you think Dahl is a better safety than anyone or a good backup, you're sorely mistaken. The only thing he's good for is special teams and character.
He is slow, with terrible ball-skills and recognition, he takes atrocious angles and is the master of the ole' tackle. He also constantly bites on fakes and blows coverage.
Craig Dahl is beyond terrible. Most safeties that can't cover can play in the box, Dahl can't even do that. And don't even dream of running a blitz where Dahl ends up in Man coverage, he'll let his man get open then completely whiff on the tackle.

Please. We know Truly Awful Soul Wrenching Secondary Play.

He's worse. That's how bad he is. Craig Dahl is a running joke in the Rams forum. A bigger joke than Alan Ball here. It's hard to imagine a NFL safety that can't cover or stop the run...but Craig Dahl is that. _________________

I don't expect Dahl to be anything more than a special teams player. Doubt he sees much time at all. _________________

Agreed - he's definitely not beating out Church who will likely be our best S and will struggle to compete against Sensabaugh, but we always need more STers _________________
