I think we will still draft one in the mid rounds. Because the depth at the position sucks. |

Rewarding this trust, he led the Bills safeties in defensive snaps, defensive stops, and quarterback pressures.
So good was Wilson that we graded him positively in every area of his play. That included penalties, where he wasn’t flagged once, and blitzing where he turned just 19 rushes into two sacks, two hits, and a hurry. Still, the best from Wilson came in the main areas of safety play: in run support and in coverage.
Finishing 12th in our safety coverage rankings and 16th in run support, we had Wilson ranked third overall on a list headed by Ed Reed. High praise indeed, and it was a unanimous decision to elect him to our AFC Pro Bowl squad.
The numbers alone made a good case for those who didn’t see Wilson play. He missed just five tackles, didn’t allow a single touchdown in coverage (just 122 yards in total) and intercepted four passes. However you want to dice it, Wilson had an exceptional year. While some prefer safeties that get themselves into the highlight reel, we’ll take the guy who makes a pile of plays and avoids mistakes. |

Great signing add leadership and consistency to our defense. Could be a big help for Griffin and it allows us to draft a safety in the 2nd or 3rd and take our time bringing them along. Anyone who thinks this is a bad signing you know nothing about this guy, he is a true leader and a great football player.

Again, if the guy got benched in Buffalo, why did we make a big push?
I'll remain optimistic, though. Nice to at least see us trying to improve.
I want to see what Markelle Martin can do, however. He was TOUGH in college.

Wilson wasnt benched he was injured, he started most of the games he played in.

Well, I'm not upset with this signing at all. At the very least, we'll have a Safety on the roster who can actually tackle for a change.

Define great. Even in his prime, he wasn't great. He was an above average safety. I'll give you leadership but not a great football player. Bills fans theirselves even said he was on the downfall. 2 or 3 years ago, it would be a great signing. Now, it's just a blah signing. Definitely gives us leadership in our secondary but not sure it improves our team on the field. Still think safety should be a priority in rounds 2-3.
