I wonder how he would do as a Ted...

He needs to play as a BUCK in a 3-4. He's really regressed since his rookie season.

The biggest issue for him atm is that he has zero confidence. He was never a 'great' LB but he was serviceable until he started playing timid. He's too afraid to make mistakes and which ironically leads to him making them left and right.

Damaged goods that if fixed, still isn't that good of a LB...

He started off pretty solid as a rookie at the SLB position. They moved him to MLB, but he never really improved. His play the last two seasons has been sub-par. His career is just not trending positively at all.

He's a replacement level player at this point. He'll bounce around a little bit since he was a 2nd round pick, but i'd be shocked if he turns it around.

why not move him back to SLB?

New reports are that this report was false. Mike Zimmer has put some quotes out there that suggest your very question. So it's a strong possibility.

Rey would be a decent add for any team IMO. He's not a superstar but he's still a solid player.

You apparently havent watched him much the last 2 years, because he has not been solid at all.

He misses tackles regularly and cant get off blocks.

I still think he could be coached up if put in the right position, but at this point, he is a backup caliber player...and an average one at that.

Yep. Bengals fans was trying to get on my case during the playoffs when I said he wasnt even the worst starting ILB in the game. He was terrible covering and tackling against us.

He got abused by Houston in the playoffs. Maybe decent at SAM but definitely not a starting ILB.
