I was going to joke, "Best DT in Texans history." Then I realized it might be true and got kind of sad.
I will always remember him scooping that fumble up to seal the Titans game a few years ago. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

What was more sad, was people around here still proclaiming the future greatness of Amobi Okoye when Zgonina was outplaying him in limited snaps in 08 & 09 as a 38 & 39 year old. See also Damione Lewis in 2010. People around here always discount the veteran depth signings, but there is a reason guys like Z and Lewis still get work well into their 30's while Okoye can barely keep a job at 25. Some guys have a drive to play football and will scratch and claw for every chance, while some have everything dropped in their laps and do nothing with it. I'm all for Z's blue collar ethic and influence on this defense.
Tell me he isn't a dead ringer for Joe from Family Guy (aka American Dad).

The hair color is a shade off, but the lack of neck and strong chin make for a compelling argument.
I don't ever remember Big Z saying much, but if he sounds anything like Patrick Warburton.... If I was him I would ask Seth McFarlane for a royalty check... lmao |
