|
|
|
No one is a bigger Darrelle Revis supporter than me. He is the best CB and one of the best defensive players in the game today. It looks like the Jets are ready to move on from Revis' contract demands. I find it a big mistake but after 30 years of being a Jets fan, I am used to Jets management making bone-headed decisions. Therefore I included a trade of Revis which will effect the draft.
UPDATE (Post Combine):
After the Jets combine press conference nothing has convinced me the Jets will not trade Revis. SIGH. Therefore, my updated mock has another Revis trade. The Jets originally had a deal worked out with the Seattle Seahawks but when Revis went to Seattle to work out a new contract he ran into Richard Sherman and got into a brawl which spilled out into the parking lot. No one was hurt in the incident. Video to be posted later. Seattle nixed the deal. As a result the Jets was able to work a deal with the Minnesota Vikings I added two more rounds and free agent signing to help fill team needs.NIXED.
UPDATE (Post Alex Smith trade)
The ridiculous trade of Alex Smith going to the Kansas City changes the top of my previous mock draft. Revis continues to be trouble. After getting into a fight with San Franciscos Richard Sherman, Revis goes to Minnesota to try to work out a deal with the Vikings. However, Miinnesota has a major snow storm and Revis decides it is too cold to play here long team and refuses to agree to a long deal. DEAL NIXED. ARGHHH!!! Now the Jets go to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a promising deal.
UPDATE ( Pre-Free Agency)
I made corrections and added a 4th round.
UPDATE (Rumor mill)
Making my final update before free agency begins. I am hearing Buffalo is high on Ryan Nassib so I doubt they trade up for Geno Smith but there is a lot of misinformation going on so you will never know. I am determined to get Mark Sanchez off the Jets so I made another trade which could be a more realistic option, maybe. I still like the Revis deal to Tampa Bay. I just will take away the 2014 second pick to make it a more realistic deal for the best CB in the game coming off an injury.
UPDATE (FREEAGENCY Thru 3/15)
Time to put out a new mock after the first few days of free agency. In this mock I decided to make my draft decisions based on the real signings occurring instead of the hypothetical signings. I still think Revis will be traded to Tampa Bay so my predicted trade still remains in play.
UPDATE (FREEAGENCY THRU 4/9)
Now that the most of the majority of free agents have signed with teams and the real Revis trade is about to go through it is time to put out the latest update to my Revis is Gone Mock.
UPDATE - FINAL MOCK)
With the Revis trade finally going thru it is time to put out my final mock draft a day before the draft begins. I looked into the future and saw the numerous moves teams made throughout the draft. I give the Jets an A for the moves they made in re-building the team. ENJOY!!!!
Pre-draft trades:
Some pre-draft trades which can make a difference in how the teams draft.
Jets trade Darrell Revis to Tampa Bay Buccaneers for pick #13 and 2014 third round pick. Tampa Bay signs Revis to 6-year 96mil non-guaranteed contract.
2. 49ers trade Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2013 second-round pick and a conditional pick in the 2014 draft.
3. Vikings trade WR Percy Harvin to Seahawks for a 2013 first-round pick (#25), 2013 seventh-rounder, and a middle-round pick in 2014
4. Ravens trade Antoine Bolden to the 49ers for a 6th round pick.
5. Bucanneers trade WR Arrelious Benn and a 2013 seventh-round pick to Eagles for Philadelphia's 2013 sixth-round pick and a 2014 conditional pick.
6. Cardinals acquired QB Carson Palmer and a 2013 seventh-round pick from the Raiders in exchange for a 2013 sixth-round pick and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2014.
7. Raiders acquired QB Matt Flynn from the Seahawks in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick in 2014 and a "conditional" late-round pick in 2015.
49ers acquired QB Colt McCoy and a 2013 sixth-round pick from the Browns in exchange for 2013 fifth- and seventh-round draft picks.
Free Agent signings thru 4-9
*A few of the current free agent signings which could make a difference in how a team drafts.
QB Tim Tebow becomes a June 1st cap casualty and signs with Nease High School to be their QB coach.

I have a hard time believing that the jaguars will take a LT when they already have a pretty good one in Eugene Monroe.
RT probably will not be addressed until later on, if at all.
Look for one of the top DE/OLBs |

Why in the world would a team with arguably the best CB tandem in the league trade a 1st and 2nd round pick for Revis? |

Especially if we keep Browner. Is Revis playing the slot? Neither Sherman or Browner are capable of playing the slot. |

Well Revis would be better than the 25th overall pick, so it's not absurd.
Having the two best corners in the league though. _________________

it is OLB that is a need, not ILB. Manti Te'o isnt bpa there. Mingo is clearly bpa or even jordan of floyd could be bpa. |

Good pick for the Vikes, but I'd rather see Shariff Floyd there just because they can't pass up that value, and because there would be a couple good nose tackles available later _________________

I believe the Bills like Glennon more then Nassib atm. Also I hope the 4th we traded was next years because it would make no sense to trade back and trade away a pick this year for next years draft. _________________

Bears will take Te'o. Do some research. Ogletree's arrest and past issues will knock him to late 1st 2nd. |

Jaguars may decide to move Eugene Monroe to RT or Jaguars may trade out of the second spot. Either way I see Joeckel being the second pick in the draft behind Geno Smith. _________________ 2-14 OR BUST. "THE PHILLY FLOP"
