When Andy trades for Alex Smith, that's a clear message that he don't like any of the QB's in this class, or rather he don't foresee any of them to represent good value/potential for the future.

No way Chiefs drafts Geno.

Reid already said Smith will be the starting QB in 2013 didn't he?

If Star is cleared by NFL doctors (ours in particular if we give him a visit), I wouldn't be against taking him at #4 for the 5-tech. I liked him during the season, ended up having my interest subside due to his heart condition, but in the end could endorse that pick if he's good.

Another distinct possibility is that we take an OT like Fisher or Johnson (figuring Joeckel will be gone by #4).

Reid said that Kevin Kolb was the starter after the Green Bay game as well.
We all know how fast that changed... Well obviously we all don't because if you did you would have never made that strange above statement in relation to a head coach who has done this sort of thing quite a few times. Shortly after the 2009 season He said that McNabb was his starter for the 2010 season. McNabb was traded to the Redskins. Anyone notice that only the people with no facts in relation to Andy Reid and his QB history are contending what he absolutely will not do with the #1 pick?

But I know how this works, once he does use his #1 pick on a QB it becomes, oh "he's going to use Alex Smith like he used Pederson and Geno will be his McNabb, no need to rush a young QB before you think he is ready. It worked for Reid before. Besides Kaepernick said that Alex Smith's coaching was vital to his success so maybe Alex Smith could help Geno the same way. Reid knows what he is doing."

It'll go from what Reid will not do to "Reid knows what he is doing, he is a QB centric head coach after all."

Let's try to limit these jokes as they don't really add anything at this point.

He'll suck as a 5 tech. I've never even read a draftnik scouting report consider such a thing.

I'm serious. Long arms are important for the 5-tech.

He's probably better for 3-tech but his pass rushing isn't really there and we already have Cox for that. Guess we could try him at NT but taking one that high in the draft isn't the smartest thing to do. I just like what he brings to the table, but he may be best suited for a NT in a 4-3.

Someone please explain to me why it's news that Geno completed 60 of 64 passes at his pro day? Since when do they keep stats for playing catch?
60 of 64 is impressive considering its the off season and the closest defender was playing golf 3 states away.
The media is truly getting more redunkulas every day.

Maybe it was actually impressive? I wouldn't know, I've never seen a pro day.

IDK these QB pro days are so scripted. So these kids have been auditioning/practicing these throws for weeks. I think its more to get a look at the guys upclose. Like Bird said the media is making it more dramatic then what it needs to be.

Yup, that they are.

QB Pro Days are only important for guys that don't get to throw at the combine due to injury, like my guy Matt Barkley. He'll go like 59 of 60 at USC's version of it, hitting Robet Woods in stride en route to his late 1st round draft status. Cool

Star is just a flat out good DL. He can play anywhere that we as a team would want him to. He can hold the point of attack, play the run, push guys around to get to the passer, and just cause absolute disruption. Anybody want Jessie Williams with our 2nd to rotate with Sop at NT? I feel like Sop would be an excellent mentor to Jessie. But, as of now, I'd rather go S/CB with our 2nd.
