Geoff Schwartz | Tackle
Team: Minnesota Vikings
Age / DOB: (26) / 7/11/1986
Ht / Wt: 6'6' / 331
College: Oregon

Latest NewsRecent NewsFree agent G Geoff Schwartz has no intention of signing on as a backup. With Brandon Fusco locked in at right guard in Minnesota, Schwartz is expected to move on. He's still just 26 and started 16 games for the Panthers in 2010, so there's some potential here. Expect Schwartz to land somewhere he can compete for a starting gig. Feb 19 - 12:16 PM

He sure would look good next his brother Mitchell and upgrade the tackle depth and the startying gaurd play as well IMO.

He wasn't injured at this year from what I have read and just has had 1 big 1 in 2011 and seems to have recovered.

Good for fusco. He was my lock for our 4th round a few years ago. Instead we take Pinkston who is absolutely terrible.

Wasn't that in camp though? He wasn't injured in the regular season at all from what I read.

Schwartz is meh to me. If we're spending money on the OL I'd like to go for Louis Vasquez, Andy Levitre, or Donald Thomas.

I am not against those guys at all but signing schwartz doesn't perclude the Browns signing one of thos 3 ether.

Thomas Vasquez Mack G.Schwartz M.Schwartz

with Pinkston Greco Luavo & Miller for Depth

Thats how I would do it if I was the new GM.

So it doesn't matter then?

I guess jason peter tearing his ACL in the offseason doesn't matter. Or suggs.

Its an injury, it should be considered.

True It should be considered. But there are injuries in camp that won't keep you out of games in the regular season. They fix the ones in camp with extra time to be ready for the regular season. It's just the other side of the coin to what your posting bulldawg

it would have been beneficial for him to start a game this year if he wants starter money

The OP didn't mention money, only he wants go where he has a shot at starting. So I don't see money being an issue.

So if your worried about money you pro rate the contract on number of starts.
