| You might want to go to bucsnation and read the article posted there "N.Y. lawyer analyzes Bowers' legal prospects." Just another point of view from someone who actually knows what they're talking about. |

I've seen it. Bowers has no criminal history and he's a religious man. But you cannot tell me anyone felt safe when a man brings a gun in his carry on bag with a loaded clip in the same bag. That's a serious offense.
I give it 50/50 at jail time. But NY is strict. Very strict. The only reason I say 50/50 is bc he has no criminal history at all but still. Law is the law and he actually got through NC security with that weapon. That will not look good that he tried doing the same thing I his carry on. |

Hmmmmmm very interesting. I guess that means no jail time, but Schiano has gotten rid of guys for a lot less. _________________

That's what his attorney said. When's the last time you heard an attorney saying "My client is screwed"? |

I really need to see how this plays out. Yes, New York gun laws are strict (and no I don't know them). However, I'm pretty confident whatever the language of the law cannot come in conflict with the 2nd amendment.
Besides the clip not being actually in the guy, Bowers didn't try to go through security and board the plane. He basically turned himself in by his actions. I'm curious to know if Bowers legally purchased and registered his firearm? I think Bowers was naive how he handled the situation, but from what I have read he isn't even close to the Burress situation.
Really curious to see how it plays out between now and April. |

Surprised to hear he will get out of it, I read that this charge has a 2 year mandatory jail sentence. _________________

| Quote: | | Bucs LE Da'Quan Bowers is in a New York court Thursday to face gun charges.Bowers is arguing that since he alerted airport officials to the gun in his bag, he had no criminal intent. The Bucs are expecting him to avoid any punishment as they've let Michael Bennett walk and are counting on Bowers to be their primary pass-rusher this season. The charges are considered Class C felonies in New York and carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 3.5 years. |

You can say that again.
When the news first broke I definitely panicked. NYC, guns, Plaxico? Yeah, I thought he was done. This is huge. _________________
