Damn it! I thought we'd cut Will Smith. Really don't want either one on the team. _________________

Oh well.. Saves us money. Gives us veteran leadership, and Smith should be better as a 3 or 5 tech than he was at 4-3 end. He's a good run defender. _________________

Well Flood, I'm not so sure about your mock. I liked it, but...
Is Will Smith going to be depth or a starter? Does this move Hicks to the nose?
Does this change or draft board?
This sucks! We need younger, rising stars. Not washed up, overpaid vets. _________________ http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/292/saitns.png |

If he starts over Hicks, I'll be really pissed. I think this means Bunkley will be NT on early downs and Hicks could slide inside on 3rd down with Smith at end. Idk, like you, I'm tired up having these washed up veterans. With a new DC coming in it's a perfect time to dump them, IMO. Just got to look at the very few positives I guess. I doubt we go DL in the first round now. _________________

I think Smith is for rotation/depth. He better restructure because he knows this is the only team who'll take him. _________________

I think Barkevious or Vacarro would be the pick. On the other hand, with that news, trading down seems possible now more than ever. _________________ http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/292/saitns.png |

I'm all about trading back into the early second and picking up another first rounder next year. Would be nice to stick it to Goodell _________________

I see us doing this:
Trade with Chicago (like you said) and trading Harper to Tennessee for a 4th and conditional 2014.
Round 1. Kenny Vacarro
Round 2. Brandon Williams
Round 3. Chase Thomas
Round 4. Kyle Long
Round 4. Tyrann Matheiu
Round 4. Chris Faulk
Round 5. Marcus Lattimore (great value)
Round 6. Jamie Collins
Round 7. Traded for Barrett Ruiz _________________ http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/292/saitns.png |

I see Vaccaro going in the first half of the first round. Chase Thomas & Jamie Collins would be a dream. I think that Thomas will work his way into the 2nd round...and Jamie Collins will be a 3rd rounder.
BTW...The Saints didn't lose their 7th round pick. It was a conditional pick and the conditions weren't met. We still have our 7th rounder. |

Vacaroo will be gone to the Rams and Elam is better anyway. And, oh god another RB. _________________

I know that another RB sounds nuts, but Lattimore, if healthy, would be better then any back that we have. We don't have a single back that is truly "the back."
Sproles is a specialty player.
Pierre can't handle the workload.
Ivory can't stay healthy.
Ingram has been a bust so far.
and if you argue Cadet's case over Lattimore... you're crazy. _________________ http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/292/saitns.png |

Pierre (in his prime) > Lattimore
Ingram is not a bust. We just don't use him in the right way. _________________

I love Pierre, but Pierre > Lattimore is nuts. We haven't had a 1000 yard rusher since deuce. Ivory and Mike Bell only had in the 700s.
Even if we save Lattimore until 2014, he's a steal in the 5th.
Everything you just said makes drafting another RB, in the later rounds, believable. _________________ http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/292/saitns.png |
