This next link was a good one for the numbers.. will just have to update from 2012 to 2013 when the time comes...

Prospects I am most interested to see? ..... ALL. Laughing

I've watched the combine for the last 7-8 years or so. There are a few positions that are mostly useless to scout at the combine. But I'm sure some guys open some eyes with their athleticism and force scouts and GMs to go back to the game tape. I like watching the receivers and defensive backs. The big guys, it's harder to see the potential. You can see if they're fluid, but that doesn't tell the whole story. The combine is also pretty useless for runningbacks.

Anyways, I'll be there.

On the other hand I am told Stedman Bailey/WR/West Virginia has really stood out and could be the surprise at receiver during the combine. He’s run terrific routes, caught everything in sight and is running very fast. The comparison to former USC receiver Steve Smith is being made and like Smith, Bailey could end up in the second round.

Just watched his highlights and I am pretty impressed with this kid. I know he isn't the big WR we want but he seems to do the little things pretty well. He looks to have good hands and a good route runner.

Best case scenario: Greg Jennings??

edit: http://nflsfuture.com/2013/02/12/stedman-bailey-scouting-report/

here's a scouting report on him. I liked what I read.

NFL combine: Five Senior Bowl prospects to watch

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/NFL-combine-Five-Senior-Bowl-prospects-to-watch.html

I've always liked this Trufant kid since last year. we probably won't draft him but I can always dream.

I highly doubt that Ansah will be there at pick 30 but if rumors are true that we wanted Bruce Irvin last year, I wouldn't be surprised if Baalke pulled one on us and traded up for this guy. He is a very raw player but I do believe our staff can turn him into something. plus imagine having to deal with two healthy smith brothers and Ansah.

Where do you see Ansah's best fit? He's one of those prospects I am having trouble placing.

Back in the days, things were easier. There were the type of tweeners that were just too small to play 4-3 DE, so had to move to 3-4 OLB. But Ansah is a different sort of tweener, in that he's big enough that he could bulk up a little and play 3-4 DE or athletic enough that he could trim down and play 3-4 OLB. Ultimately, he will probably be a 4-3 DE, though. But I can realistically imagine him at any of these three positions. It depends on what a team needs and how it sees his potential at that position. I think he goes before we pick, so we won't have to make that decision.

I believe Rudyz said it right. I have the confidence in our staff to coach this kid if we choose to trade up for him. I never really thought about him playing DE in the 3-4 but I believe he can do it. I watched some of his highlights from this year and I came away with these things on my mind:

1. BYU lined up him at different spots on the defense. at times he would be a LB in their nickel package(similar to us when we have Ray and Justin playing NT). He'll line up as a 3-4 end or NT then there are times were he plays end in the 4-3. So he seems to have versatility. He seems to also have the instincts to sniff out screens. Looks solid in defending the run.

2. One thing I didn't like about him was that he didn't seem to have good pass rushing moves. I think his raw ability allowed him to beat tackles/guards.

Ansah has played very little football so far, so that explains his lack of pass rushing moves. What I liked about him at the senior bowl, it's that he didn't get entirely swallowed up by the OL on running play, the way Hunt was, systematically. Ansah was able to hold his ground, even against double team, and was able to free himself. Well, I saw it at least once. He did not make a play on the ball carrier, but his teammates did, and he didn't look out of place, even with his lack of technique. I don't think he has enough upside as a 3-4 DE to justify a first round selection, though. As an OLB? I don't know. There are prospects who are much further along in their development, have skills and moves and should be far more attractive, like Dion Jordan, for example. He would be a project at OLB. That's why I see him ending up as a 4-3 DE, where his physical talent alone will intrigue a team, and the team that picks him up can just ease him in as he learns and grows into the job.

Georgia's Ogletree could see stock drop after DUI arrest

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/blog/rob-rang/21721523/georgias-ogletree-could-see-stock-drop-after-dui-arrest

Quote:
Alec Ogletree was arrested last weekend and charged with DUI, a charge NFL teams may be taking more seriously considering the tragic events that occurred in Dallas two months ago. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time the highly athletic Ogletree has run afoul of the law. Ogletree has an ugly track record off the field, which teams will need to investigate thoroughly. For some, the most important element of the investigation will begin next week when Ogletree and 332 other prospects will be in Indianapolis for the annual NFL Scouting Combine. Just how far Ogletree could fall due to this charge (if at all), of course, remains to be seen. His former Georgia teammate, Orson Charles, fell to the fourth round in large part due to a DUI arrest a year ago after earning top-50 hype throughout much of the pre-draft process. He landed with the Bengals. While Ogletree's stock is certainly now in limbo, the good news for NFL teams needing help at linebacker is that this year's inside and outside LB classes are quite good.

2013 NFL Draft: Top 10 Combine Snubs

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/blog/rob-rang/21657954/2013-nfl-draft-top-10-combine-snubs

Quote:
6. ILB Vince Williams, Florida State
A late invite to the Senior Bowl in Mobile a few weeks ago, Williams is a physical thumper with downhill speed, but his lateral quickness and overall range are question marks.

4. TE Zach Sudfeld, Nevada
After missing the 2011 season with a leg injury, Sudfeld led Nevada in touchdown catches (eight) as a senior and brings an intriguing blend of size (6-6, 261) and quickness to the next level.

^ a couple of guys I would have smiled over if SF selected them in the 5th/6th rds...

I just watched his highlights too and even though he's short Bailey isnt small...he has a solid build to him and looks strong catching the ball. I see a Kyle Williams/Golden Tate in his game.

Love the combine.
Always hope somebody beats the 40 or bench record.
I think Goodwin has a chance in the 40. An Jesse Williams could have a chance at the bench record.

I think trevardo Williams is going to rise, similar to irvin
