I don't think Allen is a rd 1 talent. What of Vaccaro? Vikes could solidify safety for a long time, if he fell. _________________ Remember when the Vikings passed on Dan Marino because we had Tommy Kramer? ahhh, good times.

Just get us an impact player at any position and I'll be happy. _________________

As of today, I would have to put my money on Allen as being the most believable pick based on current player ratings, team needs, and expected availability.
Once the combine is complete, things will move some, and free agency will make the biggest impact of all. If Harvin is rewarded with a new contract and at least one free agent is added, regardless of caliber, I feel like the pressure to draft a WR early will be taken away. There are a lot of very good defensive players in this draft, with a very good chance of several franchisers to be found in early rounds. The wideouts are good, but more 2nd round or later prospects as far as a pure draft evaluation IMO. I'd be looking for a stud LB to Really pull our front 7 into a dominant category (it is my belief that if 2 of your 3 backers are starters on any team, it instantly raises the other backers status around them).
I believe in time out offense will become more well rounded by adding a decent receiver or two, and having Christian mature into his role a bit more, but if we want to make a deep run in the playoffs, we have to make our defense dominant, and this draft is going to give us the tools, if we so choose, to set up that defense for the future _________________ "ARMY AVIATION: HIGH ABOVE THE BEST" |

I somewhat agree with the Allen statement. I cant figure him out. He's big bodied and has solid hands but doesnt create much separation. Not sure how I feel about him. Id take Hopkins over him. _________________

Hunter is not a 1st round WR. |
And why not? I want to hear some logic behind this. |

uhhh...lets see, there hasnt been any analysts that have given him a 1st round grade so what makes you think he is? Allen, Patterson, Hopkins, and Williams will all probably go before Hunter and my guess is, there wont be this many receivers gone in the 1st. There's your logic _________________

The difference in 1st and 2nd round WR talent is very slim to none. But the DT talent from the 1st to 2nd is a significant drop off, especially at NT. Johnathan Hankins in the 1st and a guy like Justin Hunter or Da'Rick Rogers in the second would trump any 1st WR/ 2nd DT combination. Compare Johnathan Hankins to a guy like Brandon Williams, Hankins is exponentially better. And than compare a guy like Keenan Allen/Deandre Hopkins to Justin Hunter/ Da'rick Rogers, there's not a big difference. |

^And btw....I only saw Boyd complete one pass to him while scrambling. The rest were straight out of Boyd's drop. Hopkins is a legit receiver and easily my #1 choice. You might want to analyze your receivers a little closer _________________

And here's another one for you with a few more highlights. The routes he runs at 3:05 and 3:42 are just filthy. Ive been praying we land this kid _________________

And the fact that Watkins missed the first few games and took even longer to get going after that?
Hopkins was the better receiver this past year and has improved every year. He runs precise routes and does what is near impossible to teach a receiver... High point the ball. _________________

Agree 100%. Yes highlights make everyone look good but if you watch these ones above...you can really see how crisp his routes are and also how he high points the ball like you said. I think he would be perfect in this offense. I just hope to god we land him whether it be in the first or second. _________________

I personally voted for Alec Ogletree. In a few years after the draft he will prove to be one of the best players out of this draft and definitely worthy of a top 5-10 pick. I highly doubt he falls to us though however if he does and we pass on him it will be our mistake. A more realistic option I would have chosen other and would focus more on Arthur Brown. Because of Brown's size he more than likely will fall to round 2 but he is for sure a 1st round prospect.
As for WR's the value just isn't there and I don't care if no WR in the draft had been taken yet. The best value for WR's will come in round 2 or 3 where you could get a Justin Hunter or Markus Wheaton. _________________
