| Quote: | | Aldon Smith's once-worrisome left shoulder looked great as he made his foray into mixed martial arts training Friday, less than two weeks after the 49ers' Super Bowl defeat. "We lost the game, and that's why I'm here," Smith said at San Jose's American Kickboxing Academy. "You lose and you have two choices: You either complain about it or you train for next season." Smith, selected by his teammates as their MVP last season, sparred for nearly an hour with Daniel Cormier, a two-time Olympic wrestler and current UFC fighter. |

Trainer at Competitive Edge said Colin Kaepernick asked what position group worked hardest. He's been training with linemen. #49ers |

Glad to see some (and hopefully all) of the guys staying hungry.
I'm starting to think Ricardo Lockette could see the field some next year _________________

Didn't Pat Willis start doing MMA last offseason? Pat is a beast, but Aldon with his reach would be scary to face in the ring. _________________

Aldon in the pentagon?? I didn't know he was into politics. In the octagon on the other hand, he could be Jon Jones like in terms of reach. _________________

The problem with most football players are that seem extremely stiff in terms of MMA. But MMA, BJJ, Boxing, and Muay Thai are great for hand eye coordination, explosion, cardio, and footwork. I've been doing it for a couple years and athletic guys can really thrive in the sport. _________________

Matt Mitrione and Marcus Jones(both on a Ultimate Fighter season back in the day) are ex-NFL guys. Technically so was Lesnar. _________________ Welcome to the 9ers Q!

Matt Mitrione and Brendan Schaub are real fluid fighters. I thought Schaub was actually going to make some noise, but he's disappeared lately. Please don't bring up Brock Lesnar, he's back to where he belongs thank goodness. _________________
