Charles Woodson released by Green Bay Packers, today?
What a shocking move.
Do you see us interviewing Charles at all?
The man is a football player.
Would he be a good sign, good fit in our system?
Could he make a big impact on our team?
Is he worth the pick up?
Though I would post this.
I wouldn't mind giving the man a try for a year or two, too help out with what we have now. |

It wasn't shocking at all, he was expected to be cut. His salary cap number for next year was way too high for his value...
We won't be pursuing him at all, as his play is steadily declining and he can't stay on the field over the recent. His agent has also stated that he only wants to play for an immediate Super Bowl contender (Denver, New England were the two rumored places)... _________________

I beg to differ. IMO he would still be an upgrade over Dahl.
For the right price I would love to bring him aboard. _________________

| 2 year deal at 4million with a 1 million bonus for making the pro-bowl, but only if we cannot get a starting calliber safety in the draft to go with our young nucleus in the d-backfield. at his age , still better than Dahl ! |

Let's be totally honest here most of the posters on here along with my mail man would be an upgrade over Dahl. I agree that if we could get him for the right price that would be great but realistically you don't think Denver would offer more money and for the chance at another SB ring right away? I love the Rams to death but Charles is a competitor and wants to go to a true contender. Why would he be mulling the decision to either take the same amount of money (if not more) offered by Denver/New England, or sign in the Lou? Pretty easy choice IMO.
Not trying to bash the author of the post but I HATE it when a high profile player gets cut cause immediatley it's "should we sign x player" or "how does x player fit in our scheme" only downfall to FA in my opinion. _________________

I'm not interested in Woodson. Sorry, but he would only be depth at this stage of his career. _________________

Alot of players would be, but Woodson is different. One of the few that can still play at a high level.
Example: Aeneas Williams _________________

Not only can he still be productive but him and Cort as an influence on our young guys in the secondary could be a huge benefit. _________________

We have a guy like that-Finnegan.
Woodson was already moved to safety due to his declining skills. I'm not completely opposed to giving him a look, but I don't want to see him starting next year. _________________

I do not want him if it will diminish the importance of drafting of a safety this year. Its been a long time since we have addressed safety via the draft and we are long overdue having a young impact safety. Woodson has a year, possibly 2 left. We need someone here for the long run to grow with our young team. Not to mention, thats money better spent elsewhere, money which we don't have a huge amount of. _________________

People are missing the point here, he's pretty much come out and said through his agent that he only wants to play for an immediate Super Bowl contender...
The Rams aren't gonna be in that category to him, no matter what any of us believe... _________________

He would've been a great pickup.
