Hmmm. Doesn't sound like the salary of a lackey with no real power. _________________

But people insist otherwise!
He's making bank. I'd like his job.
And for the argument that he has to "deal" with displeased fans... LOL. Pay me $30 mil a year and I will "put up with" the hate as well. _________________

Wouldn't go THAT far, his handling of the Saints situation was ugly. The NFL's revenue grew but did he really have a direct impact on that? I think he's doing an okay job as a whole. |
How we think he's doing his job doesn't matter. |
True, who even brought this up? Oh, nevermind. (you are a part of we)
Honestly, as long as he always sides with the owners he is doing his job. Only they can say if they are happy with him or not. Obviously, they are. |

Are you being sarcastic, or just naive?
He's essentially the managing entity of a company worth billions, in a multibillion dollar industry, that once again set records for TV viewers.
I'm assuming neither of you have ever been in or studied business for very long. The operating unit under his direct control is KILLING it financially, raking in LOL amounts of money while their product gets even more popular.
How exactly is he not doing his job extremely well? He gets paid to over see the league, not make fans happy, and the league is easily the most popular thing in the US right now.
You can hate him all you want, but you're still watching on Sunday aren't you? You're posting on the internet about the NFL in the most boring part of the offseason, right? If either answer is yes, Goodell just did his job. |

He would work for $1 because he obviously doesn't need the money, look how much this fool is getting paid.. | actually he said he'd work for a $1 if a single NFL game was missed because of the lockout |

Just because your are a success doesn't mean you should be admired, I imagine there we're many people he stepped on to get this job, and honestly he probably has the least amount of impact on the game itself. Rodgers Goodell Has nothing to do with who watches or doesn't watch.
He makes more than any NFL player without stepping foot on the field, the average NFL player puts their body at risk for an average 3-4 year career, and then some are left with injuries and mental problems which will never go away. An environment of competition built on scarcity(53 man roster) breeds a dangerous work environment, this applies to a lot more then football by the way. For example when CEO's and companies make record profits and yet do not hire, because they have built an environment that only the strongest will get raises and someone will come in and replace you.
I've seen that football is the most viewed sport, so he's doing his job. Wrong. The NFL was the most viewed sport long before Goodell got his hands on it. What has helped is more the weakness of other leagues not the strength of Goodell's leadership. Baseball Is constantly coming out with a weekly list of people who have cheated the sport, and most have become numb to the speculation and have simply assumed everyone cheats. The NBA has always lagged behind, most even prefer watching college basketball because they actually play defense. Hockey? Sure if you like lockouts every couple of years? Golf? No winning Tiger means no ratings. Soccer? Has never been able to draw a crowd mostly because its viewed as a sport for non-americans.
Goodell Should probably get around 3-4 Million per year, as that would be enough. Maybe the extra 25 Million per year can go into protecting the players health and benefits post NFL. Instead of the Union having to front their own money for it. _________________

No he didn't, he said he would make his salary $1 as soon as the collective bargaining ended before a new one was signed, which was in March 3rd 2011. _________________ Kickers are people too |

My point about how well he's doing his job is backed by what the owners are paying him. _________________
