Well, this one was headed nowhere quick.
Vladimir L - I think this one is better suited to the Redskins forum. I'll move it there. _________________

Um, so yeah, I think that the Redskins are going to look for someone in the draft and not a converted CB to FS who is in his 30's. _________________

I'm sure most of us have thought about it, I know I have. It's honestly not a bad idea except for one aspect: Money. If the Redskins did not have the cap penalty as a factor this year, they probably would pursue Byrd and/or Woodson.
Praying for some sort of resolution with regard to the penalty - it would make a huge difference to next year's roster. Get rid of the penalty, and the team could be signing Nnamdi or Grimes at corner and Byrd/Woodson at FS.
Losing 15% of your cap for breaking cap rules during an uncapped year is brutal. _________________

Don't see an issue with it honestly outside of a money issue. Another high character leader in the club house. Stop gap for us to find the right safety for us and attack other issues on this team. He is capable of making plays and is a proven player. _________________ In Shanny I Trust |

| He will be too expensive for us. The Redskins are broke capwise. |

Too old, too injury prone and we don't have the cap space. We are a young developing team. Woodson wouldn't even be interested IMO. He will go to Denver, Sf (if they lose Goldson), Atl, NE or Balt (if Reed is gone)
And if the packers can cut Woodson, we can definitely cut DHall! _________________

Of course, I don't see either being interested in us. They'd want to go to a veteran team that is contending for a title, that's not quite us yet. _________________

I agree with turtle, Woodson is too old and expensive... would not be a smart signing with the limited cap space we have. _________________

| We have limited cap space as it is, even with the cap wizards. Plus he's not really in line with the youth movement we got going on right now. |

There are other options out there to improve over Madieu Willams and our CB play that are younger and won't be as expensive. _________________

What kind of contract would you give him? Do you really think we are that close to SB contenders? What would you do for the long-term solution at safety? Wouldn't you rather give that money to a younger DB? At this point, Woodson will be getting money based on name recognition more than his actual pay. _________________
