| Love Minter. I'd take him at 1.17, so I think getting him at 2.34 would be sweet. I just do not see him falling out of the 1st. |

Id be far more surprised to see him go at 17 than 34 or later. _________________

I see him going around 24-28. 17 is a reach, but if you cannot trade down you take the best player on your board.
Many have/had us taking Teo, which I think is a mistake -- and thought that way before he embarrassed himself in the National Championship game. I think Minter is way better that Teo, and fills a big need for the Steelers.
I realize I am in the minority with this opinion. |

I like Minter more than Teo because his athletic ability thus far is more likely transferable to the NFL. I don't value either that high. Minter about 50th and Teo 56th. I have Arthur Brown ranked at #42 but I have a thing for linebackers with excellent instincts and speed. _________________

Minter could go higher considering the drop in talent for the position after he is off the board. _________________

Like most people, I like the idea of trading back. Even though we have other glaring needs, would love to be able to trade back and get something like Jesse Williams & Jonathan Cyprien.
Been reading that this draft lacks a ton of elite prospects but has more quality depth than most. So trading back may be difficult, but as we’ve seen in years past, all it takes is one excited trade partner for it to happen.
The Steelers have only had more than 3 picks in the top 100 twice since the year 2000. And obviously the more picks in the top 100, the better chances of draft success (even though Colbert loves his day 3 picks) |

| Minter is the only ILB in the draft that could be Potsie 2.0 imo. |

sure, I like it. Minter, my #1 ILB, Hopkins, my #1 WR, I like Jamison, although I'm not real convinced he's truly the Ray Rice clone that so many seem to think (not saying you think this)
I like Rambo, but you know which safety I'm targeting in the middle rounds.
I also like Buchanan as a developmental OLB _________________

I get the rationale for the moves and it's a well thought out exercise.
I'd be hugely disappointed in that return tho.
Just has the feel of a draft that is about filling holes rather than acquiring talent...not sure if that makes sense but yeah...just kind of blah to me.
I agree their is no "elite" talent in this class, but picking at 17 we wouldn't have sniffed any that was there anyways. I think the class is about average outside of missing the Luck, Megatron, Peterson stud or two some classes have...so I don't get the strong desire to move back on the parts of some. There's some damn good players of the next tier down variety that we may very well be in a position to snag at 17.
I'd rather sit tight or go up and try to acquire a riskier potential difference maker than trade back to acquire some extra regulars.
I'm usually fairly risk averse about my draft thoughts, but I don't think this is the off season to play it safe. Just me tho. I understand that I may be out on a limb with this take. _________________

i was drafting him as a DE. That country strong and long DE. Weights about 280 now. Tremayne Scott is my OLB.
I will also add to check out Corey Fuller. He would be a steal for some team if he goes in the 4th round. _________________

I would love the return in terms of picks, but I dont care for the draft.
Another draft that ignores NT. At the very least we need someone to come in and compete. I doubt Ta'amu is on the team next season and I think the Steelers know that.
The players we get arent bad, but Id be disappointed.
People are overrating this teams need for a WR. DONT GET ME WRONG, Im not saying we dont need one to replace Wallace, but we have other bigger needs. Brown, Sanders and Cotch are doable for a season, and on par or better than half the league in terms of talent. _________________

I'm not so sure that the Steelers want to get rid of Ta'amu. They put him on the 53 in the last week of the season and overall made a few decisions that suggest he has a place on the team from their end.
Whether the courts allow them to make the decision or not is a different matter.
EDIT: Not aimed at 43, it was just that your post brought it to my mind. _________________
