I would like to know how much is actually against the cap. 4.5 million seems like a lot for a backup not sure if the competition will happen between him and fitzpatrick sounds like he will have competition between him and the rookie. _________________

Wow, did not see that coming. Not a fan of the move either unless a rather large portion of that money is incentives. Even then, Jackson obviously is not the answer at QB.
Maybe teams will be less likely to trade above us to snatch a QB in the draft after this move, but I certainly hope he's nothing more than the #3 QB on the depth chart when the season starts. |

It's not a bad move at all it's not amazing either. It's a bridge to move on from fitz and have competition for the rookie. FA qbs aren't any better, Flynn and smith weren't an option both were expected 7-8 million plus a draft pick, with fitz on the books for 10 million its not smart to invest in one of them. TJax is good in Marrone system which is run first. _________________

It's a meh signing, he's a good back-up/spot guy. I think it'll work out alright, he's LIGHTYEARS better as a back-up than freaking Thigpen.
I just hope this is a sign that we cut Fitz. _________________

I like this signing, he will compete with whatever QB we draft plus Corp and maybe another camp body.
I have to think Fitz is done now. _________________

Actually, Marrone's comments made it sound very much like the plan was to keep Fitz. I don't know him well enough to know if he's the type that will lie to the media to keep his plans to himself or not but he did say "I spoke with Ryan (Fitzpatrick) and Tarvaris (Jackson) and told them we will have an open competition at the quarterback position"
If it is an open competition, based only on skills, I would consider Fitz the favorite of winning out over Jackson. |

Corp is a camp arm just like he was last year. If he makes it past May I'd consider that a pleasant surprise. _________________

I like it, just hope they still draft one or two quarterbacks as well. _________________

What Marrone says right now i wouldn't take it to close to heart. I think he hasn't decided to keep him or not. With a potential of 4.5 million in a 1 year deal and paying fitz 13 million as well as looking at a rookie is way to much invested in all mediocre qbs. I expect fitz to be cut before his roster bonus is due _________________

Any word on what incentives TJax must get to in order to reach the full 4.5 mil? I wouldn't be surprised if its something like us going to the playoffs and him starting at least 10 games. _________________

Don't like the move. I was hoping all our QBs would be replaced. _________________
