A full rebuild would mean we are scrapping the core of the team and starting over. I think we can agree that the core of this team is something like:
Mangold, Ferguson, Wilkerson, Harris, Revis, Cromartie, Sanchez, Moore, Keller, Holmes, and possibly Pace/Scott.
We're losing a lot of those guys, but not the majority. I don't think it can be called a rebuild, more of a "re-tooling." _________________

Hmm, I just realized I didn't carry over the 3,400,000 in cap room from 2012. _________________

Hopefully today. I don't want much college during the season so I'm always very behind on player prospects. Takes me a long time. _________________

Just a quick heads up Jones is a RFA with Buffalo. _________________

I totally understand where you are coming from about losing a lot of our defensive backfield. I'm not a GM, so maybe there's something I'm missing and keeping both CBs can be done in an appropriate way. I'm all for that. |
You do have Bell being resigned which lessens the blow to some degree.
I'm hopeful that Antonio Allen can start; though he really didn't get many snaps this season. I think he can be a starting NFL safety but he may still be a year away. _________________ “You don’t burn out from going too fast. You burn out from going too slow and getting bored.”

I love Allen, especially in Rex's scheme.
Depending on our roster moves he could push to be our sack leader next year. (ie. if we don't address OLB early)
I also think that when he slides inside for Nickle and Dime packages his work will take pressure off of the Safeties behind him. For instance maybe Bush isn't ready to be a full time starter at FS but move Allen from Safety to 5th DB and have Bush and Bell, giving Bush more freedom as opposed to just Bush at FS and Bell at SS with Bush having more responsibility. If that makes sense. _________________

Similar to the role Ihedigbo played pretty well when he was with the Jets. _________________ “You don’t burn out from going too fast. You burn out from going too slow and getting bored.”

Yes, but with the ability to actually start at SS as well. _________________

I think there would definitely be some sort of rotation at Safety, rather than trusting any young player to be the "full"time starter. Rex loves to move his DBs all over the place. _________________

Struggling with the last pick still, but it should be up tonight.
I've been watching so many videos these last few days, man. I don't know how you all keep up. _________________

Part 2 (the Draft) is up on the first reply.
New depth chart/notes on the second reply.
Also a couple changes. T. Jack resigned with Buffalo, so I signed Garrard (explanation is provided under free agency). Rolled over the 3,400,000 in cap space from 2012 that I forgot about. _________________
