Was expecting this one. With Wilson and Barnett out, there was little chance he would make the cut. Was a good player, but age and injury concerns lead to him not really being worth his paycheck.
Still, I think most of the cutting is finished. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chris Kelsay, and Brad Smith are the only noteworthy players left who might get the ax, and if I had to bet, I'd say Kelsay is the only one of the three who isn't back next year. |

Id take him in MN as a return specialist and dime CB. Can he fulfill that role? _________________

Not surprised. It was for the best. McGee was once a pretty good CB. He's been on IR three seasons in a row now IIRC. I don't remember the last time I saw him as a returner either. We've used mainly McKelvin, Smith, and Spiller at times there.
McGee could help a team as a depth CB only and that's if he's healthy. That's a big if. I liked him a lot and he was a good player here for a long time but he was definitely one of the veterans that needed to go in order to start trimming the fat. He couldn't be depended on to be able to play and Gilmore and even Aaron Williams were ahead of him on the depth chart. Ron Brooks and unfortunately Justin Rogers too.
I'm glad we're releasing guys though. Finally seems we're going on with a full rebuild. Wilson and McGee were both here for years and were Bills all their careers and next season will be the first time in a long time that neither of them will be here and that shows me we'll have a new look and at this point the Bills need a fresh start. It's a shame we couldn't have had success with these players when they were good but there's no point keeping them around any longer when they're aging, not as good, and we didn't have success with them in the first place. A few more releases and the Bills will look very different and maybe that's what it'll take to get back to the team winning. It's long overdo. I appreciate what McGee did for the Bills and enjoyed him all the time he was here but this was the right move. I hope to see him find a new home somewhere. Maybe he can sign with a playoff contender and finally get a playoff game.
Up next I'm hoping is Kelsay, Smith, and Lindell. |

Alright I've predicted all of these so far.
Fitzy, Lindell, Kelsay all next. Lets hope.
I'm fine with keeping Brad Smith, he's a fine depth wr and decent returner if McKelvin doesn't come back. _________________

He doesn't have the speed to return kicks anymore, hasn't in a while.
He could be a serviceable dime CB if he could stay healthy but he's finished the past 3 seasons on IR so I wouldn't trust him in any sort of significant role.
My opinion is that he's pretty much done at this point. _________________

If he's inexpensive, the Redskins best be all over him. They need depth in the worst way. _________________

LOL he is not the depth you want. He will pull a hammy and sit out the entire season just by getting up from the bench. _________________

Chris Johnson (not the Titans player) will probably be available after the Ravens cut him. _________________

Losing a step for a guy his size really hurts but his instincts and experience will definitely earn him a look on another team even if it's not in a prominent role.
It's not all that surprising that he was released but the Bills still need to re-sign McKelvin. He and Gilmore look to be a strong starting duo. _________________ GO SEAHAWKS GO!

They're overrated & not making the Playoffs next season.
8-8 or 9-7 best for Seattle. (& No Playoffs) |
