Well this definitly affects us in a way, he very well may not be there for us but it very well opens a door for someone like Damontre Moore _________________ 2013 Joe Blackburn HOF Award Recipient

Unless the Iggles try to bone us here's what we're looking at:
1. Kansas City Chiefs: Geno Smith QB, West Virginia
2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Star Lotulelei DT, Utah
3. Oakland Raiders : Jarvis Jones OLB, Georgia
4. Philadelphia Eagles: Luke Joeckel OT, Texas A&M
5. Detroit Lions: Dee Milliner CB, Alabama
6. Cleveland Browns: Damontre Moore DE, Texas A&M _________________

So does this mean that USC misdianosed Jarvis? Form the article it seems as if they did.
If Jarvis truly has a clean bill of health then I totally wouldn't mind seeing him in a Browns uniform. Him, Moore, or Dion Jordan would be my prefered players.
One thing that I am concerned about regarding Jones is his ability to play the run. When Georgia played Alabama, he had no impact in stopping the run at all.
Peace!! _________________

So he is medically cleared to play football. He was @ UGA as well. It doesn't change the fact he has a degenerative condition that worsens with age and contact.
Being ABLE to play football was never in question. It is his shelf life, that is.
Being Medically clear changed nothing IMO. it is the status quo. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

^^^ This.... Marcus McNeil was "medically cleared" to play football too, but his stenosis ultimately was what cut his promising career short. Norv Turner will remember that. No way we even consider him. That being said, we will bring him in for a visit and interview him at combine because that is what happens every year. _________________ Adopt A Brown

A 'clean bill of health', which this article states Jones has, is, at least by my interpretation, different than being medically cleared to play.
Medically cleared to play: There is something wrong but you can play in your current state
Clean bill of health: Nothing is wrong.
Sounds like he might have been misdiagnosed earlier in his life. _________________

He was diagnosed at USC...
The Medical Specialists cleared him to play but the USC docs wouldn't...
Georgia docs did...
Now the nfl docs have given him a clean bill of health, as the tid bit says, I don't see how anyone could have problem, unless they simply can't get past their original bias. _________________

NFL doctors have given Georgia OLB Jarvis Jones a clean bill of health regarding early-college concerns about spinal stenosis.
USC's medical staff wouldn't clear Jones to play football due to the spinal condition as a freshman. So he transferred to Georgia, received medical clearance, and went on to become one of the SEC's most feared pass rushers. Health concerns will ostensibly be a non-issue going forward regarding Jones' draft stock. ESPN's Mel Kiper insists Jones will be a top-five pick, but Rotoworld's Josh Norris expects Jones to slip into the teens; perhaps to Pittsburgh at No. 17. Feb 12 - 8:30 PM

The further medical examinations at the combine should clear this up I hope. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

My question is, even if Jones was misdiagnosed at USC and now has a "clean bill of health"' can the Browns risk taking him at #6? We cannot underestimate or minimize the Brown's long history of ridiculously bad luck...and bad 1st round draft picks. IMO, we simply canNOT afford to miss with this year's first round pick. I would stay far away from Jones and take the best Defensive player, other than JJ, that fits our scheme. _________________ JAMESON ON THE ROCKS...mmm, mmm GOOD!!! |
