Right meant signed with the Seahawks, thought of writing "Former Vikings CB..." but changed my mind, so the team name stayed, nevermind.

It's a shame Tannenbaum isn't still running their drafts. Idzik might actually be able to rebuild that team if he uses those picks wisely. If I were him, I'd use one and trade the other for a combination of 2014 picks and 2nd-4th round this year.

The Jets are so thin and talentless almost everywhere that he'd be best served to use the Belichick method of accumulating picks (even in a weak draft like this).

It will be interesting to see if they reach for a QB this year or if they're smart enough to try to add picks for next year so they can make a play for someone next year in what should be a much better QB class.

In an ideal world for the Jets, they would trade down from 13, pick up a late 1st and a 2nd (Maybe SF trades up with them) Trade a 2nd this year for a 1st next year (if possible) and just keep accumulating picks (preferably in '14 where the QB class is slated to be pretty good)

But in no way, shape or form, can ANYONE in the Jets FO sell the thought of Sanchez to that fan base. I think it's inevitable a QB gets taken by the Jets at some point in the first 2 rounds.

They really are...it's an interesting study. 3 years ago they seemed to be building something, but ever since they've been forced to make odd moves (presumably by cap concerns or something).

It's a life lesson on the importance of depth over big names.

Well ideally (for them), Idzik is the type of guy who is going to do what's best for the team's long term interests.

Any QB they draft in the top 2 rounds is going to get 2 (maybe 3) years to prove himself. They can't continually set the franchise back to take chances on middling (and overdrafted) prospects. They have to be sure whatever QB they pick to supplant Sanchez is "the" guy. I think the fanbase will buy one more year of losing - especially if it seems things are turning around - if they see the front office has a clear 3 year plan to rebuild the team.

I hope you're right and they take someone early. But were I a Jets fan, I would be very upset if that were the case unless it's a really good value (e.g. they trade down to the late 1st and somehow Geno Smith is still available).

So do we now have the best CB in the AFC East [Talib]?, Cromartie and Gilmore are the closest thing... actually Cromartie might be better.

Cromartie is better. Grimes pre-injury was better but who knows how he'll be.

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if Dennard was better than Talib this year.

I'll be honest: for some reason, I'm terrified that Dennard is going to regress. I love so many aspects of his game, but the lack of athleticism does show up sometimes on tape.

It would not shock me if Dowling supplants him by midseason, particularly if Ras-I stays healthy.

Quite a statement. There aren't many left on the Ras-I bandwagon.

I still have some hope, though its waning pretty severely.

I think everyone's afraid of the Year Two CB regression.

We haven't had too much success at drafting CBs, or they have one decent/good season, and then all of a sudden they're worse than we could ever imagine.

Darius Butler disappeared after his good rookie season, Ras-I/Wheatley "flashed" but never can/could stay on the field, even D-Mac regressed in his 2nd season. I feel like I'm forgetting someone...

I still am. I think he'll end up eing a good CB. Though I'm ride and die w/ a lot of my favorite prospects.

I'm not worried about regression with Dennard.

McCourty "regressed" because his responsibilities changed after his rookie year. With Talib now coming back and McCourty staying at FS, Dennard will get to do what he does best - press receivers at the LOS. As for guys like Butler or Chung - Dennard is a good corner and has a mental aptitude for the position they never had, so I don't find the comparison meaningful.

Redskins are hosting former Chargers CB Quentin Jammer, i thought we would offer him a low end contract if the Dennard sentence didn't go so well, he can play and provide help at CB or Safety since he is a very good tackler, but we don't really need him now, we need a pass-rusher.
