It all hinges on the bolded above and that's what makes it seem very doubtful for me. He would price us out of signing Goldson and quite frankly, I'd sign Goldson over Harvin and his question marks any day of the week. _________________

I'd love Harvin, but I think he comes with too much baggage. _________________

Rotoworld is saying Matt Flynn + picks could be a viable option for Harvin. I'd hate to see Harvin with Wilson. _________________

If that were to happen that would give me a huge headache. Now we'd have to account for Lynch, Wilsons mobility, and Harvin.... _________________

Seattle gets fleeced for unproven QBs. They don't fleece other teams for them. _________________ Welcome to the 9ers Q!

I thought about this three team deal:
49ers get: Percy Harvin
Vikings get: picks 2(2) from chiefs + Mario Manningham
Chiefs get: Alex Smith + 3(12) from 49ers
Everyone leaves happy _________________

I seem to remember T.O., Brandon Whiting, and draft picks being swapped between Philly/Baltimore/us that left us pretty well screwed. Actually, thinking back, Baltimore may not have gotten anything, but we certainly got the raw end of that deal. _________________

I think there was a previous deal with Baltimore that was cancelled, and there was some kind of penalty. So it wasn't a three way trade, but one two way trade and a penalty. _________________

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1760284 | Quote: | The Eagles sent a fifth-round draft pick to Baltimore and defensive end Brandon Whiting to San Francisco. The Ravens got back the second-round pick they sent to the 49ers for Owens.
"If the arbitrator ruled he was a free agent, he could have gone anywhere. This was the Eagles assuring that he came to them," said Gene Upshaw, executive director of the NFL Players' Association.
Owens, who spent eight sometimes controversial seasons with San Francisco, was supposed to become a free agent March 3. But his agent, David Joseph, failed to file papers voiding the final years of his contract by a Feb. 21 deadline.
The 49ers then dealt the four-time Pro Bowl receiver to the Ravens on March 4, after Owens had agreed to a contract with the Eagles.
Owens protested the trade to the Ravens, refused to show up for a physical and insisted he wanted to play for the Eagles. The union filed a grievance on Owens' behalf to make him a free agent. |
