Bryant (6-8, 320 pounds) was waived by the San Diego Chargers before the start of the 2012 season.
Hayden is a 2008 sixth-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers. Last year, Hayden (6-4, 292) was on the Cincinnati Bengals roster and reached an injury settlement with the team on Aug. 31. |

I feel like judging by thier body shape they should switch thier positions with each other |
Excuses not to darft a OL/DL til the 3rd day. Wow! Another Bengals reject since the last one worked out so well! _________________

Camp bodies. Nothing more. |
Mark my words, Jerry considers the O-Line fixed after this. |
Bet he'll talk up Leary, before the draft, and say Cowboys are not desperate for Olineman. They may have the solution in house. |
What do you expect him to say ? " These guys sucks but we need some bodies for camp " . Any GM is gonna talk up any player that comes to camp. Name me one GM that is going to say different about a player they bring into camp. They are going to say the same thing " kid has potential
" and all the other basic stuff that is said about players brought into camp, sheesh , people love to twist everything around smh |
The smarter way of handling things is to avoid answering the question at all, Jimmy. Smart GMs side step those issues by providing answers like "we're evaluating every position and will always look to draft the best player available in order to help our organization going forward". Statements like that provide the interviewer with an answer, but there's no substance to the answer, thus allowing the team to do whatever it wants at any time. |
Your right Plan but the assumption by some is that Jerry thinkS the line is fixed by these 2 signings and all I'm saying is I highly doubt the Cowboys FO have solved their line problems with these 2 signings |
Oh, I agree that the front office isn't likely viewing either of these two as guys who will fix the problems on o-line and d-line. As I said in my initial post, I think these guys are nothing more than training camp bodies. _________________

Let's discuss what impact (if any) we think either of these two players are going to have on the team instead of turning yet another thread into a "Jerry" thread. |
If we limited the discussion to what impact these guys will have on the team, this thread would contain exactly one post. [insert cricket noises here] |

I think we both know that if Jerry really care about fixing the o-line, the only player to sign is Pat McQuistan. _________________

Jerry gave the excuse of David Arkin for not shoring up the interior line last year, and at least these guys have smelled the field during a regular season game. Unlike Arkin! Or giving out big contracts to player in the interior line might be a better way of wording it. _________________

Well, so be it. It's better than rehashing the same argument over and over again which adds nothing to the forum. _________________

Yes, and threads with no activity contribute so much to the forum, right?
BTW, the direction Jerry decides to go with the OL isn't an old argument... It's very much the quintessential question now facing the team. It will be at the heart of every mock draft discussion on this forum. As much as you may want to, you can't sweep the GM under the rug and pretend like he doesn't exist. He does. He runs the team. And people are going to talk about it in a Dallas Cowboys discussion forum. |

I agree, so since these are " futures" signings, what does that exact,y mean? I assume its similar to UDFA, I doubt either one has any impact on the upcoming season |

I doubt either of them will even be on the roster in the upcoming season. _________________
