I don't follow the Bills too much, but wasn't he their best LB? I don't think they had a very good Linebacking corps.

Is he any good? I don't watch much Buffalo football this past season.

He played both OLB and MLB in his career with the Packers/Bills, had 5 sacks, 3 INTs, 4 forced fumbles and 242 tackles the past two seasons.
Was also a a top-10 4-3 outside linebacker by Pro Football Focus in 2012.
The problem was his age [going to turn 32] and his salary. [3.5M cleared off the cap]

He played the weak side outside linebacker. And he was the best linebacker on the team. That said, he was great in 2011, and good in 2012, but the decline in play made it obvious that his age is catching up to him.
Also, he saves the Bills $3.5 million in getting cut, so I think it was a wise decision for a player near the end of his career. |

Hmm, maybe Minnesota looks at him as a cheap option, we have a lot of holes to fill this offseason, and it looks more like Erin Henderson won't be back.
I don't know if he fits our philosophy, but outside of Greenway, we really don't have anyone worth a dime a Linebacker.

He was AWFUL in coverage. Couldn't cover aanyone. His tackles also seemed to come 10 yards down the field.
George just declined. Happy for what he did in the past for us but he's lost it.

If Barnett's not too expensive I hope the Vikings pick him up for a couple of years. We could use OLB and MLB and this could help keep us from throwing a rookie in at MLB.
Plus doesn't he have a sweet fro? |

was awful last year. Also Searcy and him ended up splitting reps every game and Searcy is much younger and cheaper.

Baiscally they just need to clear defensive contracts it looks like....makes sense, the Mario signing kind of handcuffed them a bit and its just too much money for a unit that wasnt that great.
