Unless I'm mistaken, players on rookie contracts can't be free agents until their third season is over, which makes next offseason the time to re-up Cecil - it also give the front office to make sure he's recovered from the concussions as well as making sure he's not a one hit wonder.
MJD isn't getting a second big payday, at least I hope the new front office doesn't decide to reward him fro what he did for teams of the past.
I don't think affording Harvin would be an obstacle for Caldwell, at least not in dollars. But the 33rd pick in the draft is pretty pricey for a guy who may be forcing his way off his current team.

I don't think the Vikings are going to do anything with Harvin though, until the fates of Jennings, Bowe and Wallace are decided after free agency.

Why would this be relevant though. The Vikings still own his rights and chances are there will be a handful of teams willing to consider a trade. Jax would actually be a team that could pull the trigger, Harvin does live in Florida and that could perhaps be a factor in where Harvin would be happy playing.
Harvin hasnt publicly said anything, its all been speculation.

Value wise, he is easily worth a 1st. However, whenever a team seemingly has to get rid of a player, it hurts the value.
Id say they end up getting a 2nd and a 4th for him. Or perhaps a 2nd this year, and a future 2nd or 3rd.

Because if that is the case, that type of thing could sometimes lend itself to character concerns. If he's not happy there, is he going to be happy being a slot receiver for Blaine Gabbert on a team clearly in rebuilding mode?

To Vikings fans: a late 1st/early 2nd value (true value)
to other fans: Late 3rd/mid 4th value (false value)
Percy Harvin is a great player, but it appears his time is done in Minnesota. Hopefully we can can get a good deal for him, because he WILL be an explosive playmaker for any team he goes to.
His replacement is already in place. Its Jarius Wright time baby!

no it's not that, we discuss it a lot, there are pages and pages of it in our forum. what we do feel it's about 50/50 that he'll be traded or stays in Minny. what we do state is that no one knows the truth right now because the real players involved are holding everything close to their vest, as they should be.
so, your analysis of Viking fans is pretty far off. feel free to look it over in our forum and get yourself educated.

I thought he read somewhere that he was IR'ed because of his injury. But it was something he could have played with and the coaches said they wanted to sit him, while Harvin wanted to play. |
