For all of you Providencians, I walked through the Thayer Street tunnel and back last Friday night in the snow. It was fun. _________________

Football Future's Favorite Play Tournament is up and running again.
Hope it goes as successful as it did in 2010....
Not had as much interest so far this time in terms of nominations, but hopefully it'll pick up. _________________

How many inches of snow did you get?
My friend in Boston got close to 3 ft. _________________

He wrote this though
| Quote: | 5. San Francisco receiver Randy Moss showed little urgency with his route running for much of the Super Bowl. With a chance to win his first title on the line, it was fairly unbelievable to watch.

I dont get that. He produced pretty solidly this yr. He and McDaniels are tight and he's the only WR under contract that will be on the team except for Matty SLates who should be a 4th or 5th WR. _________________

Moss is a turd, I give Bedard only a tiny bit of credit for pointing out the obvious. |

I believe the idea is the Lloyd didn't give the Pats what they needed from that spot and is due a roster bonus. It's not the first place I've seen that speculation, so I'm guessing there's something to it.
Doubt it happens, as I just don't see how they can replace both starting WR's with their cap situation the way it is. But it wouldn't totally shock me to see Lloyd go. |

Lloyd would be an absurd cut. He is an ideal #2. _________________

As weird as it sounds, there's only one name that makes good sense to me as a guy who the Pats could sign that would be worth cutting Lloyd, and that's Dwayne Bowe. Basically, the argument by Bedard is that the Pats need more explosiveness from that position, and it seems that the simplest way to do that is to add more size and speed. Bowe is the only guy that is a clear upgrade over Lloyd in pure talent (size/speed) and potential production.
This is not a claim that the Pats should go after Bowe, more that there aren't really any good alternatives to Lloyd. The only other two that I think you can argue are Wallace and Jennings, and I think Wallace is terribly overrated and that Jennings is going to be massively overpaid, especially for a guy who turns 30 the coming season. Plus, neither is a size upgrade on Lloyd, which doesn't really help against the "jam everybody" defense. _________________ Shut up, NBT |
