I'm sure that Cole will get a look by the Vikings in preseason this year, as I'm sure he did last year with Brinkley coming off an injury and going into his first year as the probable starter, right now Cole hasn't faced that high a level of competition yet in his preseason play, but if he flashes and plays well again, I'm sure they'll pay attention to him and see how to does with reps against higher competition. _________________ Gnat's Movie Reviews

| I think Cole would be great starting at Weak Side LB. I don't feel comfortable with him starting at MLB, I don't think he has the back pedal to drop in a deep zone nor the speed to make up for it. |

Agreed, athleticism seems to be more essential for a MLB than a WLB in the Cover 2. If anything, Jasper Brinkley might be better served playing WLB in the Vikings defense than MLB. OLBs rarely cover RBs in man, in Cover 2 so having an OLB being able to keep up with a RB isnt a glaring necessity as it would be in other schemes.
I think Cole wouldnt be a completely terrible option to consider as a WLB, at least he should be part of the competition if the Vikings lose Erin Henderson.
I still question Cole's instincts and ability to play MLB on run downs. WLBs really dont have a difficult task defending the run, that is why i suggested him moving out there. Really, the WLB doesnt take on blocks like a SLB or MLB would and is given a bit more freedom to knife in and make a play. Maybe Cole could get a shot at just playing in nickel/dime sets. _________________

and Erin Henderson doesn't deserve to be brought back after 16 garbage regular season games. _________________

| Cole may be one of those guys that needs a few years to develop. Let him play special teams for awhile while he learns and becomes more accustomed to the nfl. |

Pretty sure he earned it with more than two plays in preseason, unlike Cole. That's the difference. _________________

He does. For a guy with a 6'5 239 pound frame, he lacked upper body strength. You expect an athlete that tall to be closer to the 250 pound range. _________________

Wasnt Cole a QB at one point? That could explain it, most QBs dont train to get overly muscle bound. Unless your Brady Quinn. _________________

Cole's high school resume:
Played quarterback, safety and linebacker at Monroe HS for Coach Greg Hudkins ... Rivals.com top-30 player out of Michigan ...Threw for 3,285 yards and 23 touchdowns in his career and was named all-league as a senior ... Rushed for 10 touchdowns his final season and threw for more than 1,700 yards ... Was a three-year starter at quarterback and also played defense as a senior ... Lettered in baseball and basketball in addition to football ... Also a Golden Glove winner in boxing.

I also believe he was recruited as a TE. _________________
