We had Matt Giordano start at FS a majority of this past season. I know that feel bro. _________________

No more Eric Smith! I've been waiting years for that. |

These were all necessary and planned moves. There was never any intention to pay them the numbers they were set up for.
They still have Scott to deal with, but the Jets should be able to clear almost $35-40M when they're done with cuts and restructures. |
We can save more than $13.5M by unloading Bart Scott, Sione Pouha, and Tim Tebow. _________________

I think you're going to see Pouha and Tebow added to that list shortly.
That would open up almost $5M in cap space. |

They will explore a trade for Tebow first. The same might be done for Pouha. _________________

And when they promptly realize no one is trading for them, they'll release them. It shouldn't take long for that realization to set it. |

What happened to Pouha? Two years ago he surely would have fetched a 5th or something like that. _________________

Signed a contract before last season. He missed a lot of time with a back injury and wasn't truly healthy for most of the season. He's also 34 years old. Both contributed to a down year for him. _________________

Adalius Thomas gets the top spot on that list.
Scary to think what the 07 Pats could have looked like if they spent the combined $22 million in 07 and 08 on someone who didn't epically flop. _________________

34 and injury prone. The way we set up his contract it was almost like we were expecting him to fall apart at some point (unfortunately the year after he signed the contract). _________________

This past year it's thought he never recovered from his back injury and his play suffered.
Even though he's only 7 years pro, he's 34 and has a potential lingering back issue. That's not a guy you pay $3M+ for. |

Whats the story on Jason Smith? I know he was a back up for the Jets and pretty terrible for the Rams. Is he toasty toast? Will he be a vet Min type guy?
Any thoughts of him at Guard? What are his strengths/weaknesses? _________________

He wasn't bad as a jumbo tackle. Don't know how much you can judge him based on that role, but he seems like a solid back-up tackle. _________________
