"What kind of base defense will you be running?"
Todd: "It'll be a 34"
No one asked yet about hybrid or anything like that.. _________________

Todd: "I thought Ray did a good job when he was here and we're just going to try to use some of that and build on it." _________________

Arians/Bowles asked about PP21 and returning punts and if they will take him out of harms way..
Arians: "I don't think that guy can get the ball enough. Unless he needs a blow, he'll be in there on every punt and I hope they're punting often because he's a scoring threat every time he touches the ball." _________________

It was general.. someone asked about Washington and Bowles said he's obviously a quick force to deal with and will continue to be exactly that. Ask about Peterson and he said he was obviously a player in college and is a player at the NFL level too and they expect him to continue to do so.
Nothing of note really. _________________

I just saw some of it, that was a waste of a press conference really. Nice to get the guy in front the cameras for a meet and greet but nobody learned anything about Todd Bowles today, other than the fact that Bruce Arians really likes him. _________________

I learned he's not very charismatic. He's much different from Ray Horton in that regard. He didn't look comfortable up there at all.
Any idea on whether he'll coach from the field? or upstairs like Horton? |

Good question, no idea. Horton experimented with that in the preseason in 2011. Maybe Bowles will to, I don't know. _________________

Biggest thing that worries me right now with Bowles;
With the Horton post hire interveiw he said he had not slept for 48 hours he had been watching film, he talked extensively about what his philosophy is, he told us how he wanted to approach the job.
Bowles repeatedly deflected comments saying "I have not seen enough film" (What how long have you had the job bro, and you have not watched 16 games yet. Come On Man) and never really committed to anything. It seems he does not have a set philosophy of how he wants to run his defense.
It scares me. Horton knew what he wanted to do, he was passionate about it and he worked his rear off to make sure it worked for him. Bowles comes off and not sure what he wants to do, very soft spoken and while we don't know how his work ethic is, it would take someone special to work as Ray Horton did.
After these first couple of interveiws I am a lot more optimistic with Goodwin, he came off well, was passionate and he has a lot of veterans around to help him. Bowles I am very pessimistic. We have some peices, but I am not sure that Bowles is going to get the most out of them. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

8-9 games after the few 4-5 weeks of the season had been played does not make Bowles an experienced defensive coordinator. He's as new to the job as Ray was. _________________

Didn't he also run the defense in Miami as the interm coach? _________________
