Good stuff. He deserves to get paid. He could've made a stink about it. We're actually lucky some other team didn't snag him up a few years ago. _________________

I'm glad the Pats didn't sign him that year. _________________

It was Goldson rejecting that offer even though it was much better than what he got in SF. That let me know he really wants to stay here. _________________

That's what I meant, I remember him taking a significant cut, which actually surprised me. _________________

Was there ever an actual number from the Pats released? What I remember, it's that the Pats didn't offer him the multi-year deal he wanted either. So, if he was stuck playing a short-term deal, he chose to play it on familiar team.
Actually, look at this:
| Quote: | | Goldson actually didn't have much of a choice. The Patriots offered Goldson a contract less than the one-year, $2 million deal he signed with the 49ers. |

^ that's the way I remembered it too. Goldson wasn't being noble in this... but yeah, I am glad he didn't gripe all year or take his inner complaints to twitter. _________________

I thought the Pats gave him a much better offer than we did, guess I'm wrong. _________________

If you think about it at the time the 49ers were coming off a losing season and well it's the Pats. _________________ Welcome to the 9ers Q!

Let's say we can't get a deal done with him. is there a strong chance that we could send a package to a team to move up to select Kenny Vaccaro? _________________

what do we do with witner? do we really need two heavy hitting safeties? he also seems to get frequently owned in coverage. _________________

I don't care much for whitner. I'd rather keep Goldson for a few years and get a young guy who can actually cover next to Goldson. _________________

let him finish his contract this season while vaccaro or a rookie learns. then let him hit free agency _________________ ***WE RUN THE WEST!***

but then again, if we trade up I would rather take a dlineman. _________________
